This reminds me of the muzzling of scientists here in Canada by our Harper Conservatives...The Trump administration’s decision to stop Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) officials and other government staff from speaking out publicly has prompted the country’s leading scientific organisation to warn against “censorship and intimidation”.
This kind of paranoid control moves any scientific progress backwards... it's basically anti-intellectualism and suppression of freedom of thought and expression... none of this is good.
Cloudy day for the Sun God.
It's anonymous source vs Trump Administration's word. As far as I know there's no way to tell who is lying.

I am extremely concerned about any shutdown of the DFA and EPA, but this might not be what's happening.
The original USDA e-mail, sent Monday—as well as Tuesday’s follow-up message—were first reported by BuzzFeed News. The first e-mail told employees there would be a cessation on any “public-facing” documents such as press releases, and that all media interviews would be carefully screened. The follow-up mail reportedly said the original order “is hereby rescinded,” and that the original message had not been properly approved before it was sent out. The second message, written by ARS Administrator Chavonda Jacobs-Young, reportedly went on to note that before answering questions “related to legislation, budgets, policy issues and regulation,” employees should seek approval.
Have to admit, this one might have been a giant media red herring. Doesn't appear to be legit, but who the hell knows. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency also issued internal guidance on Monday, via e-mail, stating its employees would require approval for media interviews and that the EPA would be halting its own press releases and communications, at least temporarily. EPA told Scientific American in a statement Wednesday that they are reviewing their public affairs policies

Let's keep an eye on it...
The possibility of media exaggeration should always be considered... but the facts should be fairly easy to determine.
Here in Canada the gag orders on scientists under Harper's government reached a state of ridiculousness... and was not an exaggeration by media.
Staffers would be sent to conferences to keep an eye on what scientists were saying in their presentations and the ability of scientists to attend conferences was limited by government policy. It was Orwellian. The ability for actual progress to be made on research in the area of climate science and ecological preservation was seriously hampered.

As soon as he announces how high the wall will be, ladder manufacturer will start sending ladders to Mexico that are 3 feet higher. And, don't forget shovel makers... they will also continue to sell in Mexico.
It's just another expensive "feelzgood." Note that the people living on the border don't want the wall.

The union made no mention of it in their endorsement announcement, but Border Patrol agents along the Rio Grande Valley largely view it as waste of time and money that wouldn’t actually solve any of their security problems.

Just because a wall isn't going to keep all illegals out doesn't mean you shouldn't build a wall.Kath wrote:As soon as he announces how high the wall will be, ladder manufacturer will start sending ladders to Mexico that are 3 feet higher.
