My guesses:
1. it could just be thin skin/insecurity

I would say Trump is simply thin skinned and insecure, because that's how he's always been, this is the same Trump he's been for decades, but his base is also thin skinned and insecure, everybody is thin skinned and insecure in America now, the nation has simply come down to Trump's level, so it doesn't hurt a politician to be a thin skinned insecure proxy for his base these days, being the aloof and detached elite hovering above it all, not getting down and dirty in the trenches to meet every slight with a counterpunch, actually seems to turn people off; thin skinned, insecure, litigious and pointlessly combatative over every little thing; Trump is simply a man of the people, as the people really are now.

Trump; a mirror reflecting the zeitgeist back to itself, and in the end, that's how politicians make a living.

Why are you such a joke?

While it isn’t illegal for the administration officials to use the RNC’s private email, they are prohibited from using those accounts to conduct government-related business without properly disclosing them.

Keep pretending that sending a lunch schedule through your personal email is the same as storing the above top secret itinerary of an ambassador that ends up getting him killed when it gets hacked from your bathroom server. Keep it up, and we'll keep watching you lose.
