The other thing about F-35 v. any 4Gen A2A, is that the 4Gens can't get close enough to launch their missiles for maximum effect, they have to launch much further away, so the missile has far less energy at the merge and so most of those missiles will actually miss by a wide margin.

F-35 however uses stealth to get close enough to launch the AMRAAM in the "no escape zone", so while AMRAAM is not good enough anymore for the 4Gens, F-35 makes AMRAAM all new again, just another of its exponential force multipliers, fyi

I doubt it is even legal to commercially fly people over the ocean with a single engine aircraft. Have to look up the regs.

If that is the case, that is simply another example of government over-regulation for the fail.

Why you would champion a silly regulation imposed by a corrupt and needless red tape filled bureaucracy, is beyond me.

Oh wait, it's because of your love of redundancy isn't it? That must be it.

So F-15 fires his 8 x AMRAAM, hits one maybe two with those, F-35 gets in closer, shoots his 6 x AMRAAM, for six kills, ftw.

Another point, since ECM was mentioned earlier, F-35 is equipped with AN/ASQ-239 Barracuda integrated ECM, it's the most up to date and sophisticated ECM on any fighter in the world. ASQ-239 is actually a game changer in of itself, it's like having a pocket Rivet Joint on a fighter, it's not just ECM, it's ELINT as well.

This allows F-35 to see the gaps in the radar coverage to maximize its stealth

Uh.. no. We are talking about an F-15X, which carries over twenty missiles, including the new hypersonic missiles, which no stealth fighter will ever carry.

ECM computers are installed on whatever, dude. You could install one in a minivan if you really wanted to.

None the less, the best fighter ECM in the world, factory custom installed, is included in the per unit fly away price of the F-35.

To wit, anything you can put on an F-15X, the F-35 already has it, meanwhile, you can never make F-15 stealth, Boeing doesn't have a sensor fusion engine, and they are not offering EODAS which is the biggest game changer of them all.
