They literally sell courses. Well at ranges at least. There's fuck tons of all types of courses.GrumpyCatFace wrote:I work about 2 blocks from a gun range. Never occurred to me to just walk in there and ask for training. Is that a thing that people do?Speaker to Animals wrote:Just get a shotgun at Wallyworld and go to a gunshop that has a range and instructors and tell them you want to purchase and learn to shoot a rifle. You don't need to turn to tacticool faggotry you see on YouTube prepper channels.

Most of them are CCW classes, though, which he probably doesn't care about.

You don't need to pay someone to teach you to shoot, everything you need to know and then some is on youtube. It ain't rocket science, once you understand the principles, shooting is easy.
I only got minimal training on the shotgun in the infantry; just pick up a copy of The Art of Dynamic Shotgun by Magpul, and away you go.
Even here in Canada, all you have to do is take a one day handling and safety course; a monkey could pass it, and all that information is on youtube.
Familiarize yourself with safety precautions, never point the weapon at anything you do not want to shoot, don't put your finger on the trigger until you are ready to shoot it, here endeth the lesson.
The gun comes with an owners manual, and they are also available online, everything you need to know is in there, just read the manual.

Great. You just encouraged this cat faced killer to never pay for a $30 class and break the ice to get him into fire arms. I would congratulate your boosted ego for coming in here strutting about like a plucked chicken but I already know you would simply take offense. Being the plucked chicken you are.

Honestly, if you can't figure out the Remington 870 by reading the manual, you must have some sort of learning disability, once you've figured out the manual, if you can't follow the steps outlined so precisely by Travis Haley, then you must be blind and deaf.
If you're going to spend money, spend it on ammo. I mean, duh.
The mandated firearms handling and safety course here, is a total waste of time, just a bureaucratic money grab, back in the day, we just passed the background check, paid our $10, and read the manual, and we never had any problems.
Strip, clean, assemble, load make ready, don't point it at anything you don't want to shoot, don't pull the trigger until you are ready to shoot it, badda boom, badda bing.

Yeah y'all pay something like $150 just to legally own a long gun lol. I mean I'm not really that scornful because on the surface it does seem like a good policy. Make sure people actually understand which end goes boom before buying a gun. But we all know this is just a Bureaucratic safety class where you have to sit and watch kids push liberal poz shit for an hour. Well I'm sure it is at any rate.
Fact is, fire arm basics were passed down father to son for generations but hey fuck it. The nanny state can be our parents now in this enlightened age of responsibility and world conscience.

Hey, if you want to train for war in Ohio? 1st Battalion 148th Infantry or bust. No half measures for war, go big or go home.
Otherwise, just buy a shotgun and read the manual.
