Re: THE ERA OF TRUMP
The readiness with which many of my amazingly credulous friends adopt the idea that even daring to question any part of the EPA's "mission" means death to the Earth is really interesting.
Setting aside for the moment that the EPA is patently unconstitutional, illegitimate, and illegal, there have actually been cases where their overreach, inefficiency, and outrage has been tamped down. http://www.scotusblog.com/2012/03/opini ... -to-court/, Sackett v. EPA, SCOTUS 2012, 9-0 decision.
Red pill: The EPA causes grievous harm.

It's only been a few days into this thing. I don't think the libs will make it all the way to eight years without major conflict, to be honest. He obviously will do everything he said he would do.C-Mag wrote:I've been away working for a couple of days, need to get caught up on the news.

1. it could just be thin skin/insecurity
2. it could be actually important to achieving his goals -- just like political ads, this stunt is not aimed at us, it is aimed at the sweet spot of partially- to fully-retarded voters -- and T believes that the image of BEST CROWD EVER is critical to achieving goals
3. it could be a way to get the press to talk about crowd sizes while Trump signs a stack of executive orders.
I would have picked option 1 for most of Trump's time as a pol, but at a certain point I have to start allowing for the possibility that he is not just Mr. Magoo-ing into these various victories and that he is actually playing chess
I'd say hybrid of 2 and 3
I've come to the conclusion that Trump is playing the media; I base that on what I saw during the campaign. When he had the press conference at his new hotel and got the press all fired up to cover some scurrilous Trump behavior and it ended up being a 2 hour infomurcial for his new hotel with a few MOH Soldiers thrown in it spoke volumes to me.
1. The irritated vaginas get a big turn out and it's becoming a real news story, so Trump rolls out 'Charlie Brown' Spicer and for the next 48 hrs everyone is dick measuring over crowd photos. We didn't even have a topic here for the irritated vagina parade until 2 days after the event.
In the mean time he's halting TPP and signing some other Exec Orders
2. Monday Charlie Brown brought it down a notch and made peace with the press that had 48 hours to work themselves up into a nice heavy lather.
3. Tuesday as they are gearing up stories and questions for Charlie Brown about Monday's Presidential activities Charlie Brown throws out the POTUS believes there was Voter Fraud. This is a hot button topic for the Libtards in the press. Realistically there is always some voter fraud so it's easily proven. But it totally knocks the press off their game as the react to the fraud question. Meanwhile, it's Drill baby Drill.
4. Wednesday, now today, I check on the news after work and find out were building the wall.
I tell ya, Trump is running laps around the press, and Spicer is no Neophyte either, he's good at this.
BTW: If you want to know how Trump ruined your life today, there is a website for that. A Daily tracking of how Trump is evil.

So, I've heard he's put Chi-town on notice to clean up there mess or he'll send the Federali's in. While I believe it is going to take some serious action to staunch the flow of blood in the streets, I'm not for declaring Martial Law and sending the 82nd Airborne into Chicago. I don't know what Trump means by this, but I believe in posse comitatus and I like to know what he means. Is this going to be the FBI, ATF, DEA, armed postal workers or FEMA death camps ? What's the Strategery ?Speaker to Animals wrote:It's only been a few days into this thing. I don't think the libs will make it all the way to eight years without major conflict, to be honest. My main problem with Trump is that he believes in the use of the power of the Central Govt, while I'm more of a Xther. Very, very Bullish on the 10th Amendment, I believe in it Bigly.

Re: THE ERA OF TRUMP
I would say Trump is simply thin skinned and insecure, because that's how he's always been, this is the same Trump he's been for decades, but his base is also thin skinned and insecure, everybody is thin skinned and insecure in America now, the nation has simply come down to Trump's level, so it doesn't hurt a politician to be a thin skinned insecure proxy for his base these days, being the aloof and detached elite hovering above it all, not getting down and dirty in the trenches to meet every slight with a counterpunch, actually seems to turn people off; thin skinned, insecure, litigious and pointlessly combatative over every little thing; Trump is simply a man of the people, as the people really are now.apeman wrote:My guesses:

Trump; a mirror reflecting the zeitgeist back to itself, and in the end, that's how politicians make a living.

Nice post, Smitty. You may be onto something. It truly has been Armageddon versus second coming of Christ out there.Smitty-48 wrote: Trump is simply a man of the people, as the people really are now.

For me, it's probably #1 and #3 combined. The guy has a really big ego that he needs stroking and yeah, some of it is probably just a smoke screen so he can do way more shit, like continuing making his cabinet sinking of swamp water, etc...Alexander PhiAlipson wrote:I'll take #3, with a side order of works every time.apeman wrote:My guesses:
