I don't think this is about being radical or revolutionary. It's about feeling morally superior and inflicting damage on anyone or anything not in line with your moral superiority. Eventually these "revolutionaries" will turn on each other because they always need an enemy to attack. Look at the Seattle autonomous zone. Activists within it already fighting with other inside their own little bubble because some want to spray paint things others say is off limits.
