Imagine going to counselling, or a course designed to help you overcome something. And when you get there, there's a big, empty room with a small wooden shed and teddy bears inside and a sign on the door outside that says: "Have a cry". In a corner stands a fidgeting mute who avoid your eye contact.

You cry, hug a teddy bear, exit the shed and start to leave the room. The "mute" happily shouts to as you leave: "I'm so glad I could help you deal with your anxiety!". Then goes back to being a fidgety mute.

Fuck that shit. Wanna help these students overcome exam anxiety? Encourage them to setup study groups, maybe get more confident, older students to come by and hold little courses on how one avoid exam "stage fright". This is not merely not a solution: It's encouraging students to "resolve" a problem by just crying about it, out of sight, and that’s it. It's similar to trigger words in that regard.

These are really "solutions" borne of apathy.
