Do "Christians" need the state's guns and goons to be generous or charitable? Does anyone?
Yes, evidently. As just one example: before SS & Medicare the elderly were very likely to live in poverty and have poor healthcare, Christian charity notwithstanding.

We are only accustomed to dealing with like twenty online personas at a time so when we only have about ten people some people have to be strawmanned in order to advance our same relative go nowhere nonsense positions. -TheReal_ND

It's kinda funny, you disbelieve statistics and reject ideas purely based on their source, but believe that SS was ever a savings account. The tipoff was immediate, they paid people who have never paid in, it was always pay-as-you-go.

Wiki
The first monthly payment was issued on January 31, 1940 to Ida May Fuller of Ludlow, Vermont.[29] In 1937, 1938, and 1939, she paid a total of $24.75 into the Social Security System. Her first check was for $22.54.[29] After her second check, Fuller already had received more than she contributed over the three-year period. She ultimately reached her 100th birthday, dying in 1975[29] and she collected a total of $22,888.92.[30]

Social security absolutely keeps elderly out of poverty. This discussion got stupid pages ago when we began arguing with people's feelz about work, but now it's jumped the shark.

Thanks for the reality check.

What do you think of the Times article and the author's views of AI & GMI? (Is there a preferred shorthand here for guaranteed income. There's a number of terms around)

Because you created multiple threads after you wanted to change the thread topic, faggot.

I am headed to the gym. I will look at it later.

There are some really bad ways to implement something like that, though, and I don't think our economy is anywhere near able to do it right now. This is purely hypothetical stuff at this point. We are basically speculating about the nature of the economic system that replaces capitalism.
