Parts of North and East Africa use a really, really pungent (usually homemade, if work gossip is to be believed) hair product. It supposedly keeps their hair from breaking, and works especially well for their sort of curly-ish hair. But it's a really ill-smelling oil-based cream that gets in the skin, and a Somali woman under a ninja suit in a bus with that stuff on, sweating that stuff out...?heydaralon wrote:I wouldn't embrace anything muslim, because those people smell pretty bad. I think its from all the curries they eat and living in the desert.
I always sigh when a matronly Somali woman gets on the bus. The men also use the same product, but it helps that their hair gets to breathe in the free air. Anyway, since the Somali refugees got here in the 90's, their kids have fortunately adopted more scent-acceptable hair products.
