I am used to NPR 1) editorializing to the left, which I can deal with, and 2) not telling the other side of the story (i.e. in a story about possible mandaotry maternity leave and pay, not mentioning that it will likely lead to less jobs for women of a certain age).

BUT this was a slap in the face. I just happened to glance at the transcript of Trump's press conference while I was bored on the train back from NYC, otherwise I would have never know.

NPR news plays a Q from the media: "there have been more reports of anti-semitism since you were elected, what's the deal?"

Trump first sentences are rambling self promotion, I won the electoral college, big victory, you know the drill, same old narcissism.

And then NPR just cut the tape, and the anchors commented that Trump didn't answer the question.

Look what NPR INTENTIONALLY left out:

This was no accident. You can make anyone look stupid by selecting just a couple sentences.

I knew things were bad, I didn't know they got so bad that NPR will purposefully cull the nice part of his answer.

During the election, NPR was alright. They treated T more fairly than any other outlet held out as trustworthy by polite society.

After this, and I cannot believe I am going here, I support removal of all federal funding from NPR now. They are using their rush-hour news show to intentionally deceive, I am 100% certain this was intentional, and I am rather charitable in assuming others' intentions.

I think quite a lot of Americans are getting red pilled on the MSM right about now, and it's not going to turn out well for those businesses.

I'm also not sure why they get to receive government funding while they also sell ads and ask for donations.

No Agenda has a good clip from NPR that they bring up repeatedly. It's in just the first minute of this longer video I found:

When asked how Trump can say that the leaks are real but the news is fake, he responded:
Question: If the information coming from those leaks is real, then how can the stories be fake?

Trump: You know what it is? Here’s the thing. The public isn’t — you know, they read newspapers, they see television, they watch. They don’t know if it’s true or false because they’re not involved. I’m involved. I’ve been involved with this stuff all my life. But I’m involved. So I know when you’re telling the truth or when you’re not. I just see many, many untruthful things.

And I’ll tell you what else I see. I see tone. You know the word “tone.” The tone is such hatred. I’m really not a bad person, by the way. No, but the tone is such — I do get good ratings, you have to admit that — the tone is such hatred.

I watched this morning a couple of the networks. And I have to say, Fox & Friends in the morning, they’re very honorable people. They’re very — not because they’re good, because they hit me also when I do something wrong. But they have the most honest morning show. That’s all I can say. It’s the most honest.

But the tone, Jim. If you look — the hatred. The, I mean, sometimes — sometimes somebody gets...
It's not "fake news" because the facts are wrong, it's "fake news" because the judgement of those facts isn't the "tone" Trump thinks it should be.

Question: When you call it “fake news,” you’re undermining confidence in our news media (inaudible) important.

Trump: No, no. I do that. Here’s the thing. OK. I understand what you’re — and you’re right about that, except this. See, I know when I should get good and when I should get bad. And sometimes I’ll say, “Wow, that’s going to be a great story.” And I’ll get killed.

I know what’s good and bad. I’d be a pretty good reporter, not as good as you. But I know what’s good. I know what’s bad. And when they change it and make it really bad, something that should be positive — sometimes something that should be very positive, they’ll make OK. They’ll even make it negative.

So I understand it. So, because I’m there. I know what was said. I know who’s saying it. I’m there. So it’s very important to me.
Trump's definition of "fake news" has NOTHING to do with the facts. If he thinks he's doing a good thing, but the reporting is critical of his actions, then it's "fake news".

It absolutely was fake news. They spun it as if Flynn committed some kind of crime when he in fact did not. It clearly was propaganda. It's really amazing that at this late hour there still exist fools who would defend these people.

There's a way to spin the truth or the "facts," as you constantly remind us, while being dishonest. Look not even more than a few posts above yours if you want proof of that.

NPR has been getting less and less neutral over the last few years. In their defense, when the GOP wants to cut their funding, it would be difficult to not react...

As far as the quote in context, Trump had another chance today at answering that question, asked in an much kinder manner that stated it was not directed at his staff...
Jake Turx: So, first of all, my name is Jake Turx. I haven't seen anybody in my community accuse either yourself or anyone on your staff of being anti-Semitic. We have an understand that you have Jewish grandchildren — you are their zayde. However, what we are concerned about and what we haven't being heard addressed is how the government is planning to take care of it. There are reports that 48 bomb threats have been made against Jewish centers across the country in the last couple of weeks. There are people committing anti-Semitic acts or threatening to—

President Trump: He said he was going to ask a easy question — okay sit down, I understand the rest of your question. Folks, number one, I am the least anti-Semitic person that you have seen in your entire life. Number two, racism. The least racist.

We did relatively well — quiet, quiet, quiet — see he lied about what was going to be a very straight simple question. I hate the charge. I find it repulsive, I hate even the question because people that know me and you heard the Prime Minister, you heard Netanyahu yesterday. Did you hear him, Bibi, he said I've known Donald Trump for a long time and said forget it so you should take that instead of getting up and asking a very insulting question like that. Just shows you about the press but that's the way the press is.

Durrr.. the GOP wants to cut NPR's funding because (1) it's wasteful in the first place and (2) they are yet another democratic party propaganda outfit.

Would the democrats want to fund Fox News?
