Muh roads.
Is "autonomous-only" a 5th amendment "public" use?
Does Kelo extend to Uber? If so, what *doesn't* Kelo cover?

Be truthful, how many of you believe that those with a low credit score in the United States are more likely to steal?
How many of you believe that those with low credit scores tend to be of lower character?
Most Americans won't be against a Chinese like system, we have half of it already, and as long as it is sold well, most of you will lap it right up. "Yes sir, may I please have another," because you lap up the current system anyways.
You think of the system only as negatives, think of it this way, if you have good social score, your kids may be able to get into better universities, and you'll pay less, on everything. Perhaps your 401k will look better and they'll match more of what you put in, the higher your social score. There will indeed be powerful incentives.

I personally don't find it that hard to believe that most Americans will rail against such a system as the chinese system, we have half of it already, and as long as it is sold well, most of you will lap it right up. "Yes sir, may I please have another," because you lap the current system up anyways.
Those who are most likely to steal have lower credit scores. You have it reversed.
Lower credit scores does not indicate lower character at all. Criminal records do, though.
Most Americans would not rail against a social credit system. Or, more precisely, the idiots who have embraced cultural marxism and in any of its forms (guestimated at about half or more of the urban population) would love it and embrace it wholeheartedly as a means to virtue signal their obeisance to the Marxist ideologies, and to punish people who don't agree with those ideologies just as they love to shame people socially and even ruin their lives for expressing dissent.
Even at this late hour, it's really quite amazing that people on the left still don't realize they are the totalitarians here. Even now.

I would imagine lower credit scores are worse in a mass aggregate.
Just as I would imagine the rich are as well.

There are absolutely totalitarians on the left, and there are an equal amount on the right. Most people don't have principles at all, they're just reactionaries. They determine their beliefs day to day depending on what their party is doing. One group of people who I'd thought would at least get their single issue civil liberty correct (2nd amendment) are getting it absolutely wrong. I'm happy the NRA is around, and I sure hope the NRA isn't taking any shit that Trump peddles when it comes to protecting our gun rights.
So Trump wants to take away guns without due process, he's the leader of the right atm, and that's not totalitarian?

He got checked by the right the next day, and walked it back fast, quick, and in a hurry.
We've seen this over and over. Trump says something stupid, gets checked, and walks it back.
There is no comparison on the left.

The world already works this way, it's only that the score is not as easily readable, and we simply call it "status".
So this is an attempt from the Chinese government to regulate or redefine "status". It's definitely totalitarian, and it will hurt a lot more people than it will help, but it sure looks interesting from afar. I bet those scoring low will have an easier time teaming up with each other, and really turn into a problem for society in general, just reinforcing the "status score" as a legitimate concept for the Chinese government.

It'll just stratify society.
I'm sure someone could come up with some statistics that will show, hanging out with this person will increase your chances of defaulting on debt, getting in a car accident, or whatever other metric matters to <insert company.> Then that company will, or many companies, will start giving you financial incentives to avoid people with low scores. We all love a deal right? And if it statistically makes sense, why not do it? /s
Americans will eat this type of system up. Our endless consumerism will be turned against us, and falling to the bottom of the social/financial ladder is to be avoided no matter what.

Re: 21st Century Totalitarianism Model
Your looking out how it can be good for you, but remember, you have to follow the dictated rules to get those benefits. The Chinese social model score is going to measure you and perhaps dock you points for race, gender, religion or sexual choice. They will dock you for what you say on line. So, imagine kids raised in that system. You toe the line government dictated line so your kids can bein the good school, better healthcare, etc. Your kids will be raised to look down on any person that fits negative social points in the system. Your kids will start looking at people of certain race, gender, religion or sexual choice as being bad, because they will know associating with those people might keep them out of the good university.jediuser598 wrote:Be truthful, how many of you believe that those with a low credit score in the United States are more likely to steal?
