Pocahontas was of the Iroquois family though I don't remember the tribe. Chippewa were of that greater tribe and their women were generally regarded as the most beautiful of the natives. Most were quite peaceful I think, though some tribes did cause trouble for people pushing into the Ohio valley.

Here is the thing. For the longest time, I thought she was a Creek (Muscogee) Native but that would be too far south...she was probably a Powhatan Native that spoke Algonquian and her father was actually a chief. He did have a collation called, " Tsenacommacah" which was an alliance of 30+ other tribes that all spoke Algonquian.
