Is it considered "gun grabbing" to expect the law to be followed at gun shows, the same as for commercial gun stores?

I can't just sell a car or house to a buddy without registering the sale with the state, and he obtaining a number of permits and registrations to use it. If you want some kind of uber-fundamentalist privacy in transactions, then apply it across the board.

I'm not talking guns, gun Rights are 2nd Amendment & confirmed twice by the Supreme Court in recent years; no, I'm talking about taking the Right of Privacy away from mentally ill people because they are killing lots of folks. It's time to turn the lens from guns to the "mentally ill." Remember, statutory Rights do NOT equal Constitutional Rights.

Well, I can assure you that we'd get a much better definition on mental illness, if we were to fund mental illness research, or healthcare, or even just stop ignoring it. Somehow that never seems to happen, despite this being used as the excuse in every single gun control debate... Funny how that happens.

How much does the NRA contribute to mental healthcare?

The definition of "mental illness" was just increased in DSM-5. For example, 60% of women over 40 are taking psych drugs. Since guns are 2nd Amendment, we should instead register psychos, maybe even make them pay a fine, and possibly include them all in a Class Action as the largest contributors to violence.

p.s. Just spit-balling here, trying to solve the "violence" problem.

You want to sue the mentally-ill, for crimes that they are prone to committing in the future? That should work out...

It's not the NRA's job to contribute to mental health care....It's the NRA's job to defend the 2nd amendment......

It is most certainly NOT the express duty of the NRA to defend the 2nd Amendment. It's a hunting/rifle enthusiast organization, which has morphed into a massive lobbying power. It's the equivalent of a hobby club on a national scale.

If that interest is being threatened by mental health patients using their beloved totems for violence and murder, then one might expect such a group to promote mental health safety, would they not? Or is it actually more beneficial to the support of hunting for wads of cash and vitriol to simply be spewed across capital hill and the media?
