The real right is much smaller than the GOP electorate. Most of the elected republicans are neocons or libertarians, which are leftists by nature and always were.

I think it will happen when the democrats take over the federal government again and move to make sure that nothing like Trump ever happens again and then begin to deprive us of our human rights. I think when they get control of Congress and the White House, gun control (and I mean the real thing) is imminent. The Bill of Rights will be defunct as a meaningful document.

And Trump is fucking stupid enough to make that a reality when he could easily have defeated the democratic party had he wanted to after the election.

Down in their bones the left knew that Trump could have destroyed them politically as a national force, and his cucking out the way he did to neocons and Wall Street only ensured they can return to power and make sure this NEVER happens again.

Also, this fighting in the US is just a microcosm of what is going on across the West. It's like how Roman street battles between paterfamilias of the political families translated to all-out warfare abroad.
