See this is a perfect example of me shifting from my former Libertarian self.

Was once a day not long ago that I would have hated this idea of the govt tracking everywhere I go but that cat is far out of the bag. I get reminded every time I get in my car and my phone tells me the eta for my trip home.

There's actually multiple issues I've thrown in the towel on by accepting reality.

I don't think people want me as a non-Libertarian though because then the world gets dark and the choices seem far more stark.

Currently struggling through this myself.

I must realize that life does not ask what I want, it merely presents options.

Starting to realize what I want is never going to be on the table, or as you say, the cat is out of the bag.

We need a new Civil Rights Act prohibiting any individual from not subscribing to the NY Times.
