This is beyond my capacity to even make up at this point.

Many ISIS fighters have returned to Sweden leading to some politicians to call for the government to help the returning jihadis integrate into Swedish society. Several municipalities have even called for free housing, debt forgiveness and driving lessons for the returning fighters.

“There may be criticism, but that you should get the same help as others who seek help from us. We cannot say that because you made a wrong choice, you have no right to come back and live in our society,” said Municipal coordinator against extremism Anna Sjöstrand.

If this is true, there are people in the Swedish government that deserve to be tried and marched in front of a firing squad.

Why? We have plenty of homeless vets here too.

Really has nothing to do with the fact that he was a veteran.

What "veterans" has Sweden in their 60's???

Rather young for let's see... fighting at what war? Against Norway? A volunteer that fought in Finland during WW2?

And the picture?
the photo was taken by Getty Images photographer Karen Bleier in 2013, and there’s no indication in the photo credit that the man was a veteran, or that he later froze to death

Yep, what the actual Nynäshamnsposten article simple said is that a man was found dead at night outside the hospital. Nothing about him being thrown out of the hospital, nothing of him being a "vet". (See here)

Your average anti-immigration bullshit.

Why do you even bother? The confirmation bias is so strong that they will soon start quoting cartoons as facts if it supports their narrative. Theses fake news stories about Sweden are targeted directly at them. We don't even see them here.

We don't even have vets in Sweden. Well, we do now with Afghanistan and Mali, but the are still in their thirties at the most.

Getting to be homeless in Sweden is pretty hard. You more or less will have to choose to be or have extreme multi spectrum problems. Mental disease together with drug abuse, bankruptcy a criminal record and a distinct unwillingness or inability to ask for help.

Because there aren't so many on this site. And StA did say "if this is true...", so I guess he didn't take at face value.

But you are right about that the "vet" part shows that this fakenews is for an audience who doesn't know Sweden or hasn't been anywhere close to Sweden.

I guess this fakenews found it's wings from avpixlat.info, a site labelled as a racist hate site for some, a beacon of truth for others (especially among the Sweden Democrats). There is the story of the "Sture" and how this person isn't accepted into the hospital. And it refers to the non-existent information in the local paper. Naturally the "alternative-media" does not refer to this site, but the local newspaper (which didn't have anything as described).

It is interesting just how it is Sweden so much in the crosshairs, not Norway...
