It depends, it matters what you do with the information that matters. Act upon it, or don't, that is up to you. What happens after the fact is what matters, in some cases not acting is the worst thing you can do.

I have more than enough information to act upon, the news is not telling me anything new

but there is no point in flailing about, when I think of something productive to do, I do it

this never consists of interacting with the media in anyway, thus I don't miss out on anything by ignoring it

Who said anything about interacting with the media? I am talking about interacting with people around you.

the people around me find the media even more boring than I do, so we don't spend any time on that

here's a productive thing I did with the people around me

through watching the Netflix show The Crown

I convinced my wife that Magaret Thatcher was actually the great lady and not what the left portrays her to be

and that Elizabeth Windsor is also not the mean old goat the lefties make her out to be neither

so I converted my liberal wife to be a Monarchist Tory, over a few weeks of binge watching Netflix

win - win

her strength is that she is stalwart, that's not about being mean

as a person, she's kind of a ditz, sort of clueless, she's not being mean, she's just not that deep

she loves dogs & horses & her husband, that takes up almost all of her free time

she's like a young girl, arrested development, she's Princess Elizabeth forever

it's like the Queen once decided she didn't actually know her children well

so she directed her staff to work up a profile on each one of them, to brief her

then she interviewed her own adult children, to figure out why they were such useless idiots

I think her conclusion was that mommy didn't love them enough when they were young

but then she was like, oh well, nothing can be done about it now, moving on

it's not to be mean, she doesn't get children, she never wanted them, she only had them out of duty

again, she doesn't flap about things, that's her strength, stalwart : keep calm & carry on

she's not an intellectual, she's not in her head, but she's not neurotic as a result, so nothing gets her off her game
