Summit is back on.

Anderson Cooper just threw a chair into his gay intern in total rage.

It's like no one ever haggled with a car salesman before. There is always that point in the negotiation where the buyer should just call an end to it and be willing to walk away. If they never got to that point then they paid too much.

Can vouch for this.

The Summit seems to be getting back on track. Here's an interesting video today, that maybe wasn't so interesting during the 2016 Campaign.

First of all, it's a trap/wedge question by Martha Raddatz, asking if the candidates will make a pre-emptive strike. It's pretty standard political tap dancing, we gotta be tough shit from all the candidates, until we get to Trump. Trump's response (6:20 mark) is outside the box. Stuff like this strengthens my thoughts we got the right person at the helm.

Funny Note: Rubio gets to comment after Trump and says basically, yeah forget my earlier response, I'd do what Donald is gonna do.

What would you do about North Korea?

•Senator Ted Cruz: Blame Clinton, then load up South Korea and Japan with proactive nuclear weapons.
•Senator Marco Rubio: Blame Obama, then prepare for war via South Korea and Japan.
•Governor John Kasich: Tell Japan to strike the DPRK.
•Governor Jeb Bush: Launch a pre-emptive strike against Kim Jong-un, now.
•Businessman Donald Trump: Punch China in the nose.

If he succeeds at this, he would basically become like one of the characters in the first Asimov Foundation book. Like a Hober Malow character.

Actually, he is quite a lot like the Hober Mallow character now that I think of it.

Less fun without Smitty insisting that China can’t do jack to influence NK.

+1

Never heard of Hober Mallow, here's the wiki description, sounds a fair comparison

Mallow is a Master Trader in the Foundation and captain of the Far Star. Originally from Smyrno, one of the Four Kingdoms which borders Terminus, Mallow is a freelance trader and considered among the best of his class. He is sent to Korell on a mission to discover the fates of three Foundation ships lost in that sector, as well as to investigate the possibility that Korell has developed nuclear technology.
Mallow avoids a trap (a member of the Korellian secret police disguised as a Foundation priest) set by the Commdor of Korell, and arranges for a profitable trade between Korell and the Foundation. When he returns to Terminus, he is accused of being a traitor for not spreading the Foundation's science-based pseudo-religion and for allowing a Foundation missionary to be killed. He defends himself successfully at trial, exposing the "missionary" as a member of the Korellian Secret Police. On the back of the resultant publicity, he then wins the mayoral election, becoming the leader of Terminus.
As Mayor, Mallow leads the Foundation through its third Seldon Crisis. In this instance, the crisis involved an impending war with Korell and those remnants of the Empire which back them. Mallow's solution, reminiscent of Salvor Hardin's years before, is to make the Korellian economy (as well as the livelihood of its population) dependent on Foundation merchandise. The “war” ends three years later as one of "the least fought wars in Galactic History", as quoted in the Encyclopedia Galactica, and Mallow transforms the power and influence of the Foundation from chiefly religious to primarily economic, turning Terminus into a successful plutocracy.
Mallow is implied to be something of a playboy, no wife is mentioned, but he had a number of mistresses throughout his life, none of them named. He fathered at least one illegitimate child

Those Foundation novels probably had more impact on the way I see things than anything I have ever read.
