No it's not, it's damage control. The Dems might be so incompetent they can't take advantage of it, but the economy in the shitter doesn't help Trump at all.Martin Hash wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2019 7:08 amThe economy's going down during his campaign, probably with the help of Dems. Trump's spin will be that they did it just to win an election. It's a good bit.

Re: Trump's SCOTUS
Ain't no one going to believe the Democrats crashed the economy on purpose, Bill Maher saying dumb shit is not going to save Trump and convince Americans it was all a vast left wing conspiracy. It will hurt him and the worse the hit, the more it hurts him.
The Democrats might still lose, but it will play heavily in their favor, which is why they are wishing for a recession in the first place. Nothing would help them more. A recession would take the odds from a Donald Trump lock, to actually having a chance at winning. If even a recession doesn't hurt Trump, he's a political mastermind the likes of which we have never seen.

They already believe it. It isn't just the democrats. It's the bankers in the Fed. The deep state regulators.
Trump is openly accusing the Federal Reserve chairmen of doing exactly this, and Trump probably has a good case.
Everybody has already accounted for a recession, dude. It's only a matter of time anyway, and they spent so much time threatening to fuck Americans over to get Trump that it will have no effect best case, but worst case it could get so bad that the democrats suffer a bit.
You just don't understand group psychology and how people work. This is basic market dynamics. I explained it in an earlier thread, but you already managed to bury in spam.

Re: Trump's SCOTUS
A recession hurts every POTUS, if Trump is the first POTUS to not be hurt by it, he's an absolute political genius. FDR was re-elected despite a shit economy, a couple times, but it still hurt him, even though he convinced Americans the depression was all the Republicans fault, even though he crapped the bed and dragged it out with his New Deal.Speaker to Animals wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2019 7:43 amThey already believe it. Yeah, I grow tired of arguing against the CNN narrative, dude. Any of us can turn on CNN and listen to how a recession is going to hurt Trump. Please.
They have been talking about this for two years. When is the last time we had a fucking planned recession? Never.
People have already reacted to it.

No they haven't. People don't react to recessions before they happen, just because the media talked about the theoretical possibility of one, and logically concluded it would hurt Trump if it happened before the election.Speaker to Animals wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2019 7:47 amYeah, I grow tired of arguing against the CNN narrative, dude. That is not how reality works. You may have reacted to it already, but you are not representative of the average American, and you are projecting a view that very few people hold on the masses.

People react to any planned event before it happens. See my earlier post about oil prices leading into the Gulf War as another example.
You really should kick in your television set for having made you this dense.

You compare apples to oranges, HW Bush lost dude, people didn't give him a pass for the recession. They didn't give Jimmy Carter a pass either.Speaker to Animals wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2019 7:53 amPeople react to any planned event before it happens. Re: Trump's SCOTUS
trump's appeal is too synonymous with the economy for a recession to not hurt him. note his general approval ratings vs. his handling of the economy ratings, even some democrats give him points for that
