Funny how that works ... the masses decide they’re entitled to some form of labor ... and people providing said labor go elsewhere.

It’s almost like nobody wants to be systemically undervalued or work for free.
It's compounding, because what doctors there are available, are simply overworked.

The family doctors are saying "sorry, but I'm not willing to work anymore hours than I am now, this is crazy, I can't work every moment of every day for Public Healthcare"

Canada was a willing sidekick in Iraq, air and naval forces were deployed in support.

The Canadian Army simply did not have the equipment to participate.

Same reason Canada didn't send ground forces in the first Gulf War.
Orly,
So then what's DB all sore about?
No boots on the ground. Canada hangs back and takes the easy jobs while others fight at the sharp end.

You’d be a rider. A lil’ homie. A mensch. Someone we could rely on.
A little homie is not the same as a mensch.
We had your back up until you went "weapons of mass destruction"...
Then we were like... we'll sit this one out.

Hey at least that's the version as I understand it...

Sure it could be all CBC spin... Smitty will educate me about the "real behind the scenes shit"...

But a Mensch is not a little homie.

As a friend you want a Mensch... they make better friends in the long run when you get called on your shit.

I mean, it's not that complex.

Canada is overrun with wannabe communists, their solution to everything is authoritarian central planning, and all those solutions are simply crumbling, because as per usual with communism, the supply can never meet the demand.

One battalion of three rifle companies in the field, isn't much of a commitment in American terms.

Suffered 150 killed, fled the field. Not exactly stalwart, in American terms.

Orly,

Y’all forget quickly:
http://natoassociation.ca/why-canada-re ... q-in-2003/

Money quote:
This decision raised numerous concerns in Canada. Some feared that the decision not to join the invasion would marginalize Canada’s role in foreign affairs even further than it already was. Others believed that the decision would have economic ramifications, by irritating Canada’s largest trading partner.
Some scholars have argued that Canada’s refusal to participate in the Iraq invasion of 2003 was based on the absence of UN Security Council approval. If this were true, it would imply that all foreign policy decisions by the Chrétien government had to be sanctioned by multilateral institutions. This is not the case....
Been irrelevant for a while. And sure, you’re not obligated to go along with every call we make. You’re free to harshly criticize our decisions. Free to say and do what any other sovereign nation does.

... but so are we. We’re free to do all that while also having the clout to make our decisions and opinions felt.

Only because the Canadians were pathetically equipped and lacked numbers to secure their flanks.

Basically, even tho Kandahar was a very minor mission in American terms, Canada simply bit off more than it could chew with its military not equipped to handle it.
