I think it's one of those things that's just wrong in general. Hiding behind anonymity while threatening and intimidating others is just a punk move, regardless of the targets relative power. It's like armed robbery - sure, a mugger might take $500 off Bill Gates in a dark alley and not hurt his net worth in any perceivable fashion. The same mugger might take all the grocery money a single parent has for a month. Obviously the single parent is hit harder than Bill Gates, but that doesn't make armed robbery "ok".
Same with this. CNN is threatened to doxx this poor schmuck who talked mad shit on the internet. In return, you got the kooks and low testy clowns on this forum spazzing out and posting photos of reporter's homes, their spouses info, their phone numbers, etc, etc, because they're just as evil as the jerks at CNN. Both sides want to claim the moral high ground, and both sides are moral failures.
