Not only that, larger and larger sects of society will be denied basic Civil Liberties by the growth of Islamic values in Islamic Communities.

Why are you convinced Islamic values will win out in a free marketplace of ideas?

Personally, I am so convinced that western civilization is superior, that I am not concerned at all that it is incapable of winning once people have access to all the benefits of an open, secular society.

I used to think so as well but I'm having doubts. For the western values to win the battle the muslim population has to be let in. Now they aren't in big enough numbers. Too many are left on the outside just looking at the rewards but being denied them. This is because of several factors. We say that a lot of first and second generations immigrants are "too far from the labor market" meaning they have insufficient education, language skills or will to participate. Couple that with no simple jobs due to globalism, cheap labor from eastern European EU members and rampant under the rug racism from a lot of people and you end up with a huge number of disenfranchised people living on subsidies and ripe for radicalization.

The cost for this is huge. I personally feel it is utterly irresponsible to take in a lot of people like this when we don't have anything better to offer them. The established immigrant population are growing increasingly worried as well when they see that the places where they grew up are turning into radicalized communities. Women who have grown up in Sweden with Swedish values in secular families are suddenly being harassed for not wearing headscarves and are being bullied out of cafés where muslim men don't want female company. It's totally insane and it's been happening fast.

We see political parties on the left being infiltrated by radical muslims. Recently a high ranking member of the green party, who are a "feminist" organization, had to resign from the party board when it turned out he refused to shake hands with women due to his faith. His party comrades were apparently fine with this but it became a scandal when he did it openly towards a reporter and it became known outside the party. Our minister for Housing and Urban Development Mehmet Kaplan had to resign due to his involvement with
the Islamist organization Millî Görüş. This is part of a strategy that has been pointed out by researchers but is being denied by the mainstream.

Schools in immigrant dominated areas have started to separate boys and girls in some classes. The rationality being that the parents wouldn't let the participate otherwise so it's all for the best.

Aside from the pool thing, which we recently had a case of here (untill the municipal governmnent ordered the organization holding the classes open for men, too), this is my stance on the rationale for limiting immigration, as well.

I don't believe that even "the left", and the Danish left is not really like the US/Swedish left, are implementing or making an "Islamization" of Europe a likely future, though. What they want to copy is American-style "multi-culturalism", i.e. melting pot, rather than the traditional or native multiculturalism known to European states for centuries. Like a country like France having several cultures, ethnicities and languages all native to the territory that makes up the French state, like Spain also does, Sweden, Russia, Britain...etc.

I don't believe Muslims will suddenly start making sharia law the law of the land, even in the country of our dear fucked up neighbour across the belt. But I do fear that across Western Europe we could be heading for a society where natives have to apologize for being natives or accused of "nationalism", have to "be sensitive", "inclusive", and "diversified". EUrocrats, the federalist kind, from center-left to center-right have long dreamed of a United States of Europe.

It has always been the custom of those lower on the foodchain to want to mimick the strong, prestigious and powerful. Roman art, dress and culture was copied outside its borders in its day, French culture, dress, language, philosophies and customs were copied outside its borders in its glory days, and in similar fashion we all copy American music styles, phrases, words, holidays....and philosophies. Not because of any active "imperialism" on America's part, but because people have always believed that copying those above you in power, sprinkled a little of their prestige unto yourself Not exclusive to country-to-country, of course. The famous, wealthy and powerful in America are also copied by other Americans, after all. I think that's what's already happened in Sweden.

Of course, the Americanization they're imposing and want to impose on others, is nothing more than an idealization and romanticization of American multi-culturalism. You know, like how clueless American leftists idealize "Scandinavian Socialism"... This sort of Americanization, or pseudo-Americanization I guess, would lead to more of the "see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil" behavior when it comes to solving the integration issues across Europe. In Denmark, of course, we've largely gotten over that whole "musn't point out that Muslims are more criminal and unemployed than everyone else" bit over a decade ago. Helps to have an official national statistical database that gives you the ability to look at crime and unemployment rates by someone's ethnic background). Just need to figure out what to do with the ones that are here, but at least we're in a better starting position for that than you are. We've gotten past the point of being called racist just for pointing out that immigrant youths from MENA countries are more likely to be unemployed, uneducated and criminal. Should be possible for you, too, and sticking to simply the socio-economic cost of the refugee burden, is probably the best starting point for you in your current political climate.
