The funny part is I don't think they learned...
Look, during the 2016 election Trump got *tons* of free press, even though it was mostly negative it kept him in the public eye to the tune of $millions in free TV coverage. As the classic Hollywood saying goes - even bad press is press, it keeps you in the public eye?
They're still doing it. The *worst* thing they could do to damage Trump would be to ignore him and just not provide any coverage - but they can't do that, he attracts viewers/readers even when it's negative about him, and that means $$$ for them.
