Talking of ignoring the point, you totally missed the bit about sucking up to dictators and blah blahed about it being ok to stab an ally in the back once they'd served their purpose.StCapps wrote: ↑Thu Oct 17, 2019 5:30 amIgnore the point and focus on the cliche, monte's go to argument tactic, when he knows he's being shown to be the undercover hack bitch that he is.Montegriffo wrote: ↑Thu Oct 17, 2019 4:56 amObsessive Cliche Disorder.StCapps wrote: ↑Thu Oct 17, 2019 4:41 amAny ally has to be a permanent ally, even if the entire reason they were an ally is no longer a thing? How is it a good thing to fight a war against an actual ally to "save" an "ally" aka an enemy of an enemy? Especially when that enemy has been defeated and an alliance with the defeated enemy's enemy is no longer of any benefit?
Obvious TDS is obvious, this is the most blatant example of Monte's Trump Derangement yet.

For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

I addressed your stab an ally in the back argument, and you ignored my response explaining why you're spin on that is bullshit, other than the part where I said it's indicative of your TDS. I did not blah blah about stabbing in the back, I eviscerated your argument, and you refuse to address it, because you know it will result in you only digging the hole deeper for yourself, hence your continuing deflection.Montegriffo wrote: ↑Thu Oct 17, 2019 6:46 amTalking of ignoring the point, you totally missed the bit about sucking up to dictators and blah blahed about it being ok to stab an ally in the back once they'd served their purpose.StCapps wrote: ↑Thu Oct 17, 2019 5:30 amIgnore the point and focus on the cliche, monte's go to argument tactic, when he knows he's being shown to be the undercover hack bitch that he is.Montegriffo wrote: ↑Thu Oct 17, 2019 4:56 am
Obsessive Cliche Disorder.
You should go see a thesaurus.
Buttering up dictators you negotiate with is a feature, not a bug, especially when his political opponents act like morons when he does it.

Re: THE ERA OF TRUMP
The Kurds are not our "allies".
Turkey is our ally. Kurds are Turkey's enemies, even to the point of continuing terror attacks on Turkish civilians.
They are all a bunch of assholes, honestly, but if you are going to play the "zomg but our allies!!" game, then consider the impact on our foreign policy and reputation when we allow Kurds to establish a little terror enclave just over the Turkish border and then tell our actual allies to just deal with it.
The only way the Kurds can realistically survive like this is to reestablish relations with the actual government of Syria, work out a peace deal with Turkey so that all these God damned terror attacks stop, and Turkey then agrees to stop attacking them if they agree to stop launching terror attacks on Turkey.

Siding with the Kurds over the Turks, is actually stabbing an ally in the back to support an temporary ally of convenience, who it is no longer convenient to be their ally. Yet I don't hear monte playing the "zomg but our allies!!" when it comes to Turkey.
Monte will not address this argument, because he knows it makes his criticisms look even dumber if he does.

Re: THE ERA OF TRUMP
As long as Turkey agrees to parlay with Assad and work out an agreement for the Kurds to keep a semi-autonomous zone in that region, and the Kurds agree to stop attacking Turks, then it's the best possible outcome. But it all hinges on the Kurds agreeing to stop the terrorism. With imminent threat of Turkish invasion, that's actually likely. With America keeping uniformed human shields in their zone, the likely outcome, at some point, is a number of Americans getting killed eventually, and then rapid conflagration in the region.
The old policy was dangerous as fuck.

For once StA isn't talking out of his ass and is making a lot of sense, a rarity these days, but credit where credit is due.

This is a big FU to Erdogan and a big win for Assad. The NE of Syria is where all the oil is and most of the fertile land. That is what the Kurds have been sitting on and the Turkish invasion seems to lead to Assad getting it all back.CEYLANPINAR, Turkey (AP) — Syrian forces on Wednesday night rolled into the strategic border town of Kobani, blocking one path for the Turkish military to establish a “safe zone” free of Syrian Kurdish fighters along the frontier as part of its week-old offensive.
The seizure of Kobani by forces loyal to Syrian President Bashar Assad also pointed to a dramatic shift in northeastern Syria: The town was where the United States military and Kurdish fighters first united to defeat the Islamic State group four years ago and holds powerful symbolism for Syrian Kurds and their ambitions of self-rule.
The convoys of government forces drove into Kobani after dark, a resident said. The resident, who spoke on condition of anonymity for fear of reprisal, was one of the few remaining amid fears of a Turkish attack on the town. Syria’s state-run media confirmed its troops entered the town.

You seemed to be saying that Clinton was subjected to the same tactics that Trump is facing now. I don't remember Clinton making the same fuss Trump and his supporters have made.
