Losing to Red Wings wouldn't have been a good look, Matthews in the clutch ftw.

The Wings always play up to the Leafs and vise versa, so it's usually a tough out, but yeah, that was a Big Horse save us moment right thur, but then again, that's what he's thur for.

Great team effort by the big line tho, Willy and Hymie winger win the draw, Hymie ties up two in the corner and gets the puck to Willy, Willy take the rock to the house with authoriteh, everybody goes to Willy, while Matty goal scorer separates himself from the fray to get the angle for the laser snipe.

Rumour control; Leafs offer 5th rounder for Glendening, Wings counter by asking for a 2nd. I'd certainly give them the 2nd if they took Matt Martin's contract back with it.
Mind you, I don't think Babs wants to give Matt Martin up, Babs is perfectly happy to sit someone indefinitely, just in case he decides he needs them at some future date, he want's at least one legit enforcer option at his disposal.
I'd be fine with Kerby Rychel slotting into Martin's role, but Babs likes his vets, so I'm sure he prefers Martin "good man, good pro".

OK, boys.... is getting Nash worth giving up Tolvanen?? I've been hearing both sides of this debate locally for the last week.
I'm highly skeptical of moving Tolvanen, unless you all tell me it seals the deal on your boy Fife drinking from the Cup this summer.

Absolutely fuckin' not, Nash ain't worth giving up a bucket o' pucks, Tolvanen is going to be a star, steer clear of Rick Nash in return for anything, never mind Tolvanen.Fife wrote:OK, boys.... is getting Nash worth giving up Tolvanen?? Rick Nash is not the kind of guy who is going to help you win the cup, he's big, but he's soft, he's lost a step, and he ain't great defensively, that's not the sort of player who is going to put you over the top and could rather end up being a liability.
Tolvanen for Nash would be like Forsberg for Erat, big mistake.

I mean, hell, if you're willing to put Tolvanen into a deal, you could probably get James Neal back.

Tolvanen is playing against men in the KHL, there's your winger right thur, forget Rick Nash, the future is now, just play Tolvanen, he's a winger, rookies can play wing right out of the gate.

I am opposed to moving Tolvanen for anything other than a deal that would lock down the Cup right here and right now. I don't know it such a deal exists anywhere.
If what I keep hearing about Tolvanen's ceiling is right, I'd be hard pressed to send him away.
We are getting news and opinions every day now about how soon we'll see Tolvanen here.
Oh and the obligatory Mike Fisher updates. Any chance he can still play?
