What does this board think about the heritability of IQ? This isn't exactly what was being discussed, but I've seen both gene and environment arguments getting thrown around for things like culture and achievement. I'm not an expert on any of this, but I thought they did studies that showed that identical twins separated at birth were similar in disposition, intelligence and achievement, and that adopted children, despite being raised in a different environment from their biological parents, took after them in more ways than their adoptive parents. Do you guys view environment as more fundamental in shaping you as a person, or do think genes take precedence?

Scientifically, there exist racial differences in the IQ distribution. The IQ distribution of sub-saharan Africans is to the left of the Caucasian distribution, and the Caucasian distribution is to the left of the East Asian distribution (though I don't think that is the case for the SE Asians or Central Asians). It also contains a chapter on how the PC regime began after the war and how it has damaged the ability of scientists to openly discuss the latest research for fear of major consequences to their lives.

Having a higher IQ distribution doesn't make one race better than the other, and it certainly doesn't seem to result in a more fruitful culture (Europeans are not generally as intelligent as Chinese, but more innovative and produce a stronger culture). There's more to it than just IQ.

White folks in Russia seem to have missed that stream. As have the white Scandanavians and at various times the Poles, Germans, French, etc, etc.
When your skin color puts you downstream from the same source you shouldn't have representative democracies, Stalinism, Fascism, capitalism, communism, and socialism, all showing up.

As far as the original point you responded to, apparently you don't get it. American culture, which emerged prior to the 1965 immigration reforms that paved the way for our demographic replacement, was the product of two centuries of immigration from white countries in Europe, as well as Russians.

If your aim was to suggest that the differences amongst white cultures and the differences between white cultures and nonwhite cultures are all same-same, then your point is completely refuted by the existence of the United States, whose culture is the product of white immigration to North America. There exist some nonwhite influences, but the fact that whites from all over Europe and even Russia immigrate here and are pretty much the same thing one generation on, while the same is NOT true of nonwhite immigrants, pretty much demolishes your entire thesis here.

Italian and Russian immigrants came from completely different backgrounds. Their grandkids are pretty much the same thing now. But blacks, who's ancestors came here almost two centuries earlier, form their own subculture. The kids and grandkids of the nonwhite immigrants that came here after 1965 are not the same subculture as white Americans. Not at all. Your thesis doesn't conform to reality. Point goes to Nukedog.

Culture "in large part" is genetics is demonstrably false based on the vast number of cultures created by the same genetics when put into different environments.

Why the similarities between black communities in the US, Europe, and Africa?

I think the mistake here is that you are so used to our commonalities amongst whites that the differences get amplified and seem on par with the differences we see between white society and nonwhite society.

We all build pretty much the same kinds of societies. A European city and an American city look very different to us whites, but in the grand scheme of things, they are pretty much the same thing compared to Asia or Africa.

Africans tend to be more tribal. They are a race of warriors. We are all different in our own ways, and some of those differences are evolutionary behavior. Very small differences in genetics can lead to drastic differences in culture and society. That's where the problems arise.
