I don't see Trump as the winner, here. He was very clearly the lessor of two evils.
I tried to start out hopeful, but his very first day he focused on a lie... his penis...err crowd size. He hasn't stopped.
If lying is his strategy, than it's the shittiest strategy ever. There's a dramatic difference between shaking things up and just randomly making up facts to keep everyone occupied while Bannon plans the final destruction of the country. A cabinet filled with bankers & other billionaires? That's swamp draining? He lied to you. He said Mexico would pay for the wall, he promised he had a great health care plan, he told you he was going to drain the swamp..... he lied to you then, he keeps lying now and you all think it's good that he's lying. Stunning, really.

What happened to "He's telling it like it is... He really cares about us.. dribble-dribble-derp"StCapps wrote:Telling the truth when it won't help you or will hurt you is a even worst strategy than lying in politics. Those who only tell the truth don't get very far in politics, because always telling the truth is sure fire path to not getting elected.

Just like Rant - defending what Trump does today even though they were completely against it yesterday. Same/same.GrumpyCatFace wrote:

Just because I trashed Obama more than I've trashed Trump doesn't mean that I'm treating them by different standards. It means so far Trump hasn't fucked up as much as Obama did.Kath wrote:When Obama got caught in a lie, you bitched and moaned non stop that the media didn't report it.StCapps wrote: There are no tears on my end, only yours. During the campaign, the media doing its' job again was promoted as a feature of a Trump presidency.
Now that Trump gets caught in a lie, you bitch about the media hounding him about these lies.
Hypocrite. Exactly like Rant.

I never said he really cared about you, I said he cared about himself and in caring for himself he'll do you more solids than any establishment politician is likely to do for you. Trump's interest coincide with the people's interests more than establishments of either political party does with the people, and that's at least a minor upgrade.GrumpyCatFace wrote:What happened to "He's telling it like it is... Don't put words in my mouth and pretend I thought Donald Trump only had the interests of the American people in his heart and nothing else, get fucking real. Trump is out for himself, his legacy and his family and I certainly never claimed otherwise.

Venting is good.Kath wrote:Adjusting to a buffoon as president is challenging, to be sure. What's more problematic is those who don't think his lying is a character flaw. He's lying to foreign leaders, FFS. He's calling our friends names, on the phone.Martin Hash wrote:I don't understand where you're going with this? Impeachment? I want things to shake up, but I don't want to kick all our friends in the groin during the process. The man has literally no understanding of diplomacy. Sad, really.
This is who we are, now, for at least four years. As Nick Moore said - the way to fixing corruption is to first elect a clown. Look how many people are now, for the first time since HS, learning how the government works..
The media is doing their job again.
There are silver linings. I'm mostly pissed at the fanbois and cheerleaders, here. It's as icky as watching Rant defend some of the shit Obama did. Ewwwwwww.

As to healthcare - his realization that it's complicated was pretty telling. Who knew? Lulz. Everyone but him, apparently. Now he's figuring out why Obamacare passed. It's what the INSURANCE COMPANIES wanted, not what Obama wanted.
BTW, Trump promised me I would get tired of Winning, I'm still not tired, but we've had a few good dances
For you Kath

I heard dressing up in a vagina costume and throwing trash cans into the street helps deal with the Trump Derangement Syndrome as well.

Truly not sure I'm staying. I'm genuinely interested in having good discussion, but I spend way too much time trying to get agreement on basic facts. Painful. Not enjoyable. I love talking policy but loathe spending time looking for quotes to prove Trump lied about what he lied about. Too much, "nu uh he didn't say that." When. He. Said. It.Martin Hash wrote:

Oh, you mean the Irritated Vagina March.
Yeah, that was classy. Why didn't we just make a giant mechanical hand and drive through the crowd grabbing them
I had a sister in law at that, she didn't take it well when I asked how the Irritated Vaginas were.
