public employee union pensions have nothing to do with corporate monopolies.

Biggest source of employment is small business - always will be. You want to give paroles purpose, let some of them start businesses and hire th e rest. Exxon has plenty of employees.
Main street usually only competes with wall street when they're highly automated.....

Automation isn't difficult to achieve anymore, except in manufacturing. Nobody prefers a Walmart to a local grocer. But the grocer can't beat the subsidized, market-controlling monopoly of Walmart. Same with McDonald's and all the other copy-pasted shit across the country.
SJWs are a natural consequence of corporatism.

Basically, union thugs loosing their pensions....sucks, but only a fool would have believed the government.....

As go the states.......

Saying people who worked for 30+ "thugs" is interesting. How do know you this?

As for fact that many pension funds have been delibertly underfunded by governments, who were often happy to do that because they could 1) not paid higher wages and 2) not raise taxes, and 3) use the money that was earmarked as extra revenue.

Also, Wall Street defrauded (lied) to pension management, and of course the 2008 crash did not help.

Just as one should be able to trust not to be murdered, or robbed, while walking down the street at noon, one should also trust the people running the entire financial system, or the government, should not either.

But then none of the crooks who crashed the system in '08 were frogmarched. They got to keep their bonuses too, and the politicians were usually re-elected. However, those nasty workers should have their pension fucked anyways.

Even better, they just bonused themselves most of the bailout money that we gave them.

I still don't think that the actual "system" was ever under a real threat. Just the shithead banksters and the megacorps.

True. However, income inequality usually hinders starting small businesses especially as some of the causes of inequality like monopolies, rent seeking, money hoarding, etc do so. And guess what has been happening in our country for the last 40 years.

What does "let[ting]" someone start a business entail?

Once you are granted the privilege, does the business just emerge from the void?

Will someone please let me start a business and hire the rest?

I think the best solution to the unfunded pension disaster that looms over our near future is that, if (when) the problem becomes a federal issue, the pensions should be reduced to the same amount a disabled veteran gets, paid from the Treasury no differently than SSD or VA benefits. If it's good enough for the guy who has his legs blown off and lives with TBI for the rest of his life, then it's good enough for the marxist teachers who retire after fifteen years.

Other than that, I'd say fuck it. You have to be realistic about the matter. People will just move out of the county before paying sky-high property taxes with no return in corresponding public services. You can't force people to live and work in your democratic party-controlled cities.
