Re: Meanwhile in Ukraine
the Russians have reportedly increased their air activity, more airstrikes
on Sumy & Chernihiv in the northeast
really just bouncing the rubble tho
indiscriminate bombing of cities serves no military purpose within the context of their stated objectives
they basically have no plan now, they are just bombing for the sake of bombing

Re: Meanwhile in Ukraine
in actual fact, Precision Guided Munitions are not about reducing collateral damage
PGM's allow you to hit a large number of actual military targets in a very short period of time
so the Russian lack of PGMs in crippling their ability to hit the Ukrainian military
in lieu of that, the Russians just bomb random buildings in the cities, because that's all they can do

Re: Meanwhile in Ukraine
4 Chan says they have all the Defense Threat Reduction Agency docs on biolabs that have been taken down
https://boards.4chan.org/pol/thread/366588208
I didn't even know we had a Defense Threat Reduction Agency

Re: Meanwhile in Ukraine
it's not just that the Russians don't have PGM's
they don't seem to have the other supporting arms in play neither, it's not combined arms
the tempo of airstrikes is very slow,
like they don't have them stacked up with tankers,
they just send ones & twos in at a time, random strikes
they don't actually conduct close air support, they don't call in airstrikes in support of ground attacks
nothing seems to be coordinated nor sustained, like there is no ELINT, AWACS, JSTARS etc
they just fly random missions here and there, seemingly disconnected from the situation on the ground

So Nuland says, “yeah, the U.S. does have bioweapon labs in Ukraine and we’re afraid the Russians will get their hands on them.”

Re: Meanwhile in Ukraine
it's like the Sukhoi Su-25 Frogfoot is the Soviet version of the A-10
on paper it is a Close Air Support platform, perfect for the role
but what if you couldn't call them on the radio ?
what if you weren't on their net ?
what if you didn't have any JTAC's to call the CAS for support ?
that seems to be the Russians problem in a nutshell
their army can't talk to their air force, so the two are not working together

It's like they blew all their money on liquor and women. Nothing left for weapons, training, or any kind of upkeep or retention. Only tough on paper.Smitty-48 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 11, 2022 1:11 pmit's not just that the Russians don't have PGM's
