Av's back down to a +8 goal differential; told ya they'd cool off. Johnny Burns giveth and Johnny Burns taketh away.

Losing Johnson is actually worse than losing MacKinnon, Johnson was carrying that D, he was playing like a 1D there, that's a real kick in the nuts, but thus is the problem with Joffrey Lupul-itis, just can't rely on them to be there when you need them.

Tyson Jost can actually get you by for awhile without Big Mac, but there's nobody to step in on the back end to replace Johnson, I mean, he's no Chris Pronger, but he is 6'4" 235 lbs, you gotta have somebody back there with some size to them, Samuel Girard is gonna be good, but 5'10" 162 lbs; he's got a lot of filling in to do yet.

4 Hawks fans ejected from the United Center for screaming racist slurs at Devante Smith-Pelly, lolz.

Hawks fans throwing a tantrum right now, they're not taking this window closing situation well.

Beautiful block by Glendening on Gardiner at the point, then beats J-Gards to the puck in a foot race, feeds Larkin who almost scored short handed.

Glendening on the PK; me likey.

We got Zadarov who is really coming into his own, but not sure he's ready for that 25+ mins a night load just yet. He can play 22:00ish just fine paired with Johnson, and it'll be nice that he's getting more ice time, but still a kick in nuts to lose Johnson, just as bad as losing MacKinnon, probably worse. Forces us to play the kids a lot more, that's for sure, but there's no getting around it sucking donkey balls.

I don't believe the Avs are contending right now anyways, so I don't think it's a big deal, play the kids, don't crush their confidence, but by all means, it's not a make or break season for the Avs, they've rebounded from last place, they're having a bounce back season like the Leafs did last year, try to go as far as they can, but they're not actually on the cusp of winning the cup, so nothing is really a disaster this season.
