Texas has pride and it has an ego, but there isn't a Texas city that didn't throw a parade when Walmart came to town (and if you have a Sams Club within driving distance you own prime real estate.) We like it big cheap and full of gasoline or beef, and we do not care where it comes from.

Edit: Whatsmore, none of those cities except San Antonio, has much in the way of housing in the city limits to be a sanctuary. Houston is the size of a small fucking state. Its way easier for illegals to go live in Tomball or Taylor or Bastrop.

Well Baytown was once white, blue collar, working class. For that matter so was Katy. Baytown went one direction and Katy is doing.... something. Not saying it was all illegal immigration but a lot of it was.

Baytown got refineried, and no one with money wants to live next to something or work somewhere that a gas chromatography lab report would just come back as, "Yes" for everything.

Also I'm assuming the illegals are there because the same lab report wasn't bilingual.

Edit: Also applies to Lamarque, Texas City and I don't even fucking know whats in the air around Pasadena but that hole is the only place that makes Shreveport smell like a breath of fresh air.

Yeah you're right about that. Lima, Ohio was a trip. They have a refinery that is going on a hundred years old, currently owned by Husky, partially owned by the Triad supposedly, where there were no kind of regulations for many decades. People would talk about digging into the ground on site for new construction like they needed hazard pay. The town had comparatively astronomically high cancer and birth defect rates but nobody could figure out why.

But the other half of it is those guys managed to land some pretty good paying jobs in Baytown. Not that I would want to live there what with all the air quality and crime rates.

Mind you if I was an illegal and I made it to Louisiana I'd just turn around and head back to Mexico drug cartels be damned. If I was slave in Louisiana in the 1800s I'd have tried to swim back to Africa. If I was offered a job in Louisiana for a hundred million dollars I'd pay someone else 99 million dollars to work there for me. If God flooded the US, Louisiana be pissed it got cleaned. In Louisiana you can by a shrimp po boy and a fifth of whiskey from the same gas station casino, and I'm still not sure which is most appropriate to drive your car on.

One thing I noticed working with Louisiana folk is that they do everything ass backwards. I think the NBP want to claim some states for black Americans and Louisiana was on the list. Like, I'm not a great negotiator but if I was a negotiating man.... Louisiana? I think we can make some sort of deal here.

See that just seems too racist, in that I can't imagine a human being wanting Louisiana nor would I condone giving Louisiana to anyone without setting it on fire, boiling the rivers and lakes, and then spritzing febreeze on it beforehand, black panther or not. I know people who are from there love it, but strangely enough I have yet to meet the person who loves it that wants to live there.

Speaking of fucked up states that border Texas, how is Oklahoma as fucked up as it is? I lived in Amarillo for two years, its the same damn geography, almost same economy, how is Oklahoma as screwed up as it is?
