I'm surprised that anyone is "against" male circumcision, honestly. There's no real effect on the penis, that I'm aware of, other than lower infection rates etc.

Virtually no Danish male who isn't either Jewish or Muslim, is circumcised. With the invention of antibiotics and better education about daily hygiene, there's no significant medicial benefit to it. And while the opposition here isn't Men's Rights Activism-related, the arguments are the same: That it is morally on par with FGM, that it is mutilation. Personally, I think the practise is bizarre, and has no rational place outside religion, but I don't believe in banning it, and while there is no significant medical benefit to males (or rather, males who are raised to wash themselves and whose parents can afford antibiotics), a medicial benefit is there and the downsides (less sensitivity in the glans of the penis due to the hardening of the skin there) are minor.

And, it creates a little extra cash for the North American medical profession.

So, the choice then, is to pay for a (very cheap) procedure at birth, or pay for a lifetime of antibiotics to prevent a perpetual infection?
I have 2 sons on the way next month, and I know what I'll choose...

Also, given that I do think we're headed for a global economic meltdown in my life, what happens when you can't get antibiotics? Or the germs simply grow immune?

The reason it isn't, is because the blasphemy was aimed at the religion, ie. the beliefs themselves. Hate speech laws are aimed the individuals who practise those beliefs. While both run counter to the spirit of free speech, the subject of their defense is thus different.

I disagree. These laws are totally aimed at belief, i.e. the belief that the Holocaust never happened or the belief that a large percentage of Muslims will never successfully integrate into western civilization are the targets of those laws. The impetus very much is a religion. Marxism is religious in its nature, and the people who practice the neo-marxism we see today very much act like religious fanatics in all things.

The belief in diversity == good and tolerance == highest virtue belie a religious value system. The neo-marxists have blind faith in their marxist ideologies and they will get violent with anybody who speaks heresy within that ideology.

To claim that women are not as good as men at some jobs is literally a heresy in the marxist religion. They can get violent when you express that heresy.

It's a religion and these laws that they pass are no different than heresy and blasphemy laws.

Lol, a "lifetime of antibiotics"? Seriously. It's not like all of Europe, Latin America and Asian men have to go to the doctor every week, or even every month or every year to get their regular dick shots against urinary tract infection. I think I had a UTI when I was 6 yo. Hadn't had one since then. Comes with having hot, running water and soap.

If we run out of antibiotics AND running water AND the ability to make soap.... then we'll probably be looking at more daily worries than just the occasional dick itch. Several thousands year's worth of Europeans somehow made do without adopting that particular Middle Eastern practise and somehow that turned out quite well. And that was even before the invention of modern medicine and improvements in personal hygiene standards.

Huge decrease in the chances of a heterosexual man contracting HIV comes with circumcision. As in 50-60% less likely to contract HIV from an infected woman..
