Was anyone appeased by Bolton's appointment?
The MIC? Without perpetual war, what do we need them for?
That's what I was thinking.

OK, I'm not a fan of Bolton as I've said, but let's look at facts if we are going to be slamming National Security Advisors for being involved with new wars. Since 2000

Condi Rice - Afghanistan, Iraq, Yellow Cake, WMDs
Stephen Hadley - Nothing new, stared down the Bear in Georgia
James Jones - Oversaw the withdrawl from Iraq and the expansion in Afghanistan.
Tom Donilon - oversaw destruction of Libya, we came, we saw, he died  Involved in smuggling weapons from Libya to Syria which would create ISIS.
Susan Rice - Oversaw US expanding dramatically troop presence in Africa, and Yemen. Involved in getting US troops in Syria.
HR McMaster - Nothing New. lobbed missiles into Syria. oversaw the bulk of the destruction of ISIS.
John Bolton - Nothing new.

I mean that his appointment was an empty gesture by Trump towards the MIC/Neocons. I sure hope that Kelly/Trump keep the tight leash on Bolton to keep the "Nothing new" status quo.

It very well could have been an empty gesture. All I know is Bolton got his wings clipped pretty damn fast when his loud mouth almost fucked up the NorK Summit.

Nothing New/Status Quo doesn't do it for me. I want to see a radical withdrawl from about 80% of our global footprint. I don't think Trump can do it politically until his second term though.

I'm watching Donald !

+1 - this would be one thing that would be really hard to put back. I'm doubtful the MIC will let him, though. I wish Eisenhower were here. He warned us.

I remember the exact same thing being said about Obama.

The Age of Bolton was pretty damn short.

God Emperor Trump has banned Bolton from North Korea negotiations.

Well, that's good news. Maybe he's hiring these losers just to piss people off, knowing full well he's getting rid of them ASAP. Bannon, anyone?

That's what I'm thinking. Might even be the goal going into it.

Think of the support he'd get from shit canning Bolton.

Maybe, I understand the cynicsm. Trump has been pretty focused on his agenda. Even Dan said he's doing what he said he'd do. Much to the dislike of the Resistance.

Pulling back from all these wars that just cost us money is one of the things he campaigned on.

I was going to remind you that Dan hasn't put out CS content for several months, but I went to look to be sure. There's a new one - I can't believe it. I thought he was done.
