I mean Confederation.
"Canada" simply means Confederation.
To wit, Confederation is a burden on the throats of Canadians, not a boon.
I mean Confederation.
Smitty is voluntarily associating himself with the freedom happy peoples of Nevada... while residing in Canada... and protecting himself from as many unwanted associations as possible while doing so...
I was referring to domestic politics, I don't think much about Iran at all. Iran is not my problem, I'm not a Jew.DBTrek wrote: ↑Fri Apr 26, 2019 9:55 amI was thinking more about the relevancy. I mean, the last couple of times we’ve gone out raiding you guys stayed home. So if we’re measuring relevancy by impact on the world stage I’d say y’all have chosen irrelevancy. Which is fine. But Canada has never struck me as a place that strives to be particularly relevant.
Not like Iran. Those guys are HUNGRY to be relevant, and it kills them to be just another broke ass ME nation.
Again, it's not really relevant to the CONUS, let them fight, who cares?
And what I'm suggesting is that even in relation to that goal, there is such a thing as being too individualistic. Weaken society too much, make it too irrelevant, and distance yourself too much from it and you're left with no allies to stand up to government overreach, or if it comes to the worst, government tyranny. If I'm not mistaken, the "there is no such thing as society", comes from a misunderstanding of an old Margeret Thatcher quote. One where she's credited as saying as there is no such thing.
