Basically. Unpredictability is one of the key pillars of the vision of Trump as Nuclear Hitler. Trump isn't that unpredictable though, he just seems that way to his haters who think he is simply bumbling about and getting lucky. There is a method to the madness, and while Trump is less predictable than most politicians I've ever seen, he's still fairly predictable.

Kath is on here bitching about Trump embellishing or misremembering numbers as egregious lies that should worry us all, I mean how can we trust the POTUS is he wants people to believe that his inauguration was bigger than it actually was? Lulz.

Kath is right, we don't give a shit about obvious lies that are transparent as fuck and aren't a big deal at all, yet she still thinks this is somehow a clear indication the sky is falling and Trump is next level dangerous, yet somehow this wasn't the case with other POTUS's and POTUS candidates. Kath has the chicken little gene.

The issue there has nothing to do with the inauguration. It shows that he's either A) incredibly thin-skinned and insecure - think Nixon, or B) he's intentionally spouting nonsense, in order to distract us from what's happening - think Bush/Obama.

Either way, this is definitely not a good sign.

It not a sign that sky is falling either. It just means Trump is lying to try distract you into imagining he's even popular than he is, this is a sign of business as usual, not the coming apocalypse.

Trump is just a better liar and gets people to argue about something he wants to argue about, arguing about just how popular he is pre-supposes that he's popular, that's a good argument for him to get the public talking about, see how that works?

Well, that's not exactly a 'fresh new wave' of Greatness, is it? So remind me why we elected this asshat again?

Potential upside. With the other candidates who had a shot at winning, there was no potential upside, only business as usual. If Trump is just business as usual than at least he proved the candidate with the most campaign contributions doesn't always win, and that's a good thing. He also saved you from Clinton and Bush.

I thought Rubio looked ok. No problems with Kasich, other than working for Goldman-Sachs in the past. But now we have a whole cabinet of them, so no diff.

Rubio and Kasich have no upside, they were far more business as usual than Donald Trump could ever hope to be. Their cabinets would be staffed with even more GOP establishment folks and their wall street buddies, the grass wasn't greener on the other side.

The alternative was Hillary Clinton.

Agree 100%. It was quite clear during the primaries that she wasn't wanted, but the DNC didn't care. She was the anointed one. She ran a horrible campaign, filled with wide open corruption AND had way way too much baggage.

I don't see Trump as the winner, here. He was very clearly the lessor of two evils.

I tried to start out hopeful, but his very first day he focused on a lie... his penis...err crowd size. He hasn't stopped.

If lying is his strategy, than it's the shittiest strategy ever. There's a dramatic difference between shaking things up and just randomly making up facts to keep everyone occupied while Bannon plans the final destruction of the country. A cabinet filled with bankers & other billionaires? That's swamp draining? He lied to you. He said Mexico would pay for the wall, he promised he had a great health care plan, he told you he was going to drain the swamp..... he lied to you then, he keeps lying now and you all think it's good that he's lying. Stunning, really.
Account abandoned.
