2. This thread grew out of the violence at the Berkley - Milo Riot last night.

To me, the Leftists look like they are mentally unstable because they are out suppressing free speech, while saying they are protectiong free speech, speaking against violence while beating people for no reason.

Violent protests that led to the cancellation of a speech by right-wing provocateur Milo Yiannopoulos at the University of California, Berkeley Wednesday night has cast a spotlight on a group of anti-fascist activists known as “Antifa.”

Following the unrest, Yiannopoulos ascribed the violence to the general “Left” and President Donald Trump even called for taking away funds from the prestigious university. However, according to reports, the protests were peaceful until a group of several dozen black-face-mask-clad activists showed up. Soon, videos showed them shooting fireworks at the building and smashing windows.

I looked up this Milo Yiannopoulos guy... I think right wing provocateur is an unfair description... so I am picking up left wing bias in this piece.
I think the protests against Trump have been largely peaceful with a violent element that is by far a minority element. I looked up Anti Fa and almost found nothing current... seems to be a throwback to historical movements... I think it's BS.

Yiannopoulos and Breitbart do offer legitimate critique of modern western policies that most people don't question. I think they are totally legitimate and are being dismissed unthinkingly by a lot of the media which explains the success of the alt-right. That being said many on the alt-right have unrealistic proposals and deserve plenty of legitimate criticism themselves.

The temperature is rising on the polarities though, and the small violent element tends to dominate the media as they always do...
