When I was in Alpine, TX, in 1995, bound for the Big Bend and Mexico for 2 weeks I felt pretty safe from nuclear obliteration, I'll grant you that.

My feelings about beer security heading into the desert weren't so hot, of course (I bought 2 extra cases, 2 extra cartons of squares, and a half-gallon of tequila just in case), but I wasn't too worried about fallout.
