The only glimmer of hope is the fact that so many millinnials are killing their babies or just living on the pill until they become infertile. It looks like the effect of the baby boom might finally die off with this latest iteration of the poison generation.

Not the same thing.

You just don't get it. There are two generational lines. Boomers/Millinneals are one thing. Silent Generation/Gen X are another thing. We have totally different politics as groups. Right now our nation is flushed down the fucking toilet because the boomers and millennials are legion and form a kind of generational voting bloc.

You don't just need to look at the electorate through the lens of race and gender, but also generational. There are two generational lines with competing political interests.

It's sort of like that show Carnivale.

Who is FDR now? And more importantly, even if you had FDR, what could he really get passed, in this day n' age?
They didn't fix it, they simply delayed the problem, and made it 10x worse. That bill is coming due shortly.

FDR is somewhere in the wings - could've been Bernie, but now.. probably Lizzie Warren, I guess. No other figures come to mind.
Bernie and LIz? Yeah, that wouldn't last long, they got no answers, they wouldn't get a New Deal passed, and then they would get turfed pretty quick after, at which point, so much for the lefty wefties, step aside Naomi Kline, pendulum is swinging back the other way, hard.

The future is Pinochet or Franco. I am partial to Franco. He had a great overcoat.

You're the bitter ones, GenX is not bitter, we saw this coming from a long ways away, it was you little dearies in your Echo Boomer cribs, who were promised a bed of roses, GenX is not bitter, we're simply ambivalent, we don't have a team, so we don't play your team sports, we came to terms with our Lost Generation status a long time ago, and it pretty much comes down to; <shrug> "at least it's not a nuclear war, so it's all gravy in the end".

The doomsday we were raised in the shadow of, was a bit more comprehensive than a market correction.

Millenals; "ZOMG Doomsday!"

GenX; "What, launch on warning?!"

Millenials; No, Market correction!"

GenX; "Oh, that, jesus guys, you had us scared there for half a second..."

You're not GenX, goofball, if you're retired already. You're a Boomer.

Were you wearing parachute pants and coked out of your mind in the 80s, or were you holding a Trapper Keeper?

Still don't know if I'm Gen Z or a Millenial. Need to know if I'm supposed to save the Republic or doom it.

In the eighties, I was Judd Nelson/Emelio Estevez from the Breakfast Club, the very nexus of Generation X. The Boomers is Mr. Vernon.

I got my pension when I was 39, but only because I joined the army at 17, in the eighties.
