Re: THE ERA OF TRUMP
Well I think he was guilty, and I called for him to be courts martialed for it, but once he pled guilty to the charge, at that point he had begun to restore himself to his duty, if your Commander-in-Chief deems him to be no threat to public safety and finds him to be worthy of clemency after four years in detention barracks? So be it, I know what is to be in detention barracks, no cake walk that is; four years in DB? Pound of flesh taken; "free to go, have a nice life."

Let's think of the other way around. Wouldn't the humane thing to do involve moving him to Canada where he can live with his own kind?
I am really just looking out for his human rights. I was just joking before about dropping in the ocean.

I have no particular interest in denying him entry to Canada, none the less, the law is the law, he has been convicted of a serious offence, to which he pled guilty, this disqualifies him from entry to Canada, it's out of my hands; talk to the judiciary, I would suspect they might say "get yourself a pardon, then come back and see us".

He's not my president!
Really? That's not your uber car either, but you're going for the fucking ride.

Watching Frontline tonight "Divided America", going over Obama's early presidency, the 2007 shitstorm, etc. It is fascinating. Highly recommended, even for party hacks.

Wait, what? I've been told around here and on the DCF that the only libertarian types are the rich crony capitalists and the degenerate heroin and pot fiends that don't take baths. Who are these strange people mentioned in this blog post? ???I worry that my more liberal friends won’t be sufficiently impressed. They’re thinking “Oh, more libertarians, like all those small-government people from the Bush and Reagan administrations”. My own view is that “libertarian” gets used to pick out at least two different clusters of people. One is rich crony capitalists who want a convenient excuse to cut their own taxes and roll back workers’ rights, but who fight tooth and nail against any decreased subsidies or increased competition that might threaten their own comfortable position. The other is people who are actually interested in using the power of competition to kindle innovation, improve access, bring down entrenched interests, and ultimately help regular people. The first cluster of libertarians has been around forever. O’Neill and Srinivasan seem to be part of the second. A principled, intelligent cluster-two libertarian getting the top job at one of the country’s worst bureaucracies would be practically unprecedented.
