No it does not. The context I was using it in, was it's broadest definition, just because you can't fucking read and assumed I could only be talking the philosophical definition only, not my problem. You're just dumb.Speaker to Animals wrote:And in the context in which you were discussing it, it has a single word sense.

In philosophy, idealism is the group of philosophies which assert that reality, or reality as we can know it, is fundamentally mental, mentally constructed, or otherwise immaterial. Epistemologically, idealism manifests as a skepticism about the possibility of knowing any mind-independent thing.
In contrast to materialism, idealism concedes the primary of consciousness, which means consciousness exists before material, consciousness creates and determines material, not vice versa. Idealism theories believe consciousness is the origin of the world and aim to explain the existing world by mental causes.
This is another one of those times, like your electromagneticism implosion, where I suppose you just lack the education to know any better, but are too stubborn to accept it.

That's the second definition. The first one is "the practice of forming or pursuing ideals, especially unrealistically.", therefore you're a moron. More than one definition, faggot, the most specific one is not only definition that means idealism, so shut your face.Speaker to Animals wrote:\StCapps wrote:No it does not.Speaker to Animals wrote:And in the context in which you were discussing it, it has a single word sense.

You are such a cry baby when someone uses a term in broader sense than you are used to hearing it, but you don't run the english language, so quit fronting as if you control of all the definitions for idealism, and people can only use the word the way that you use it, because that's not how it works.

StA demands that all words only be used in their most specific contexts, never in a more general context, he's too dumb to follow along.

For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

Capps said it was not really possible for a burst of gamma rays from a nuclear blast to knock electrons out of atoms in the atmosphere, which then result in an EMP. Then he said an EMP probably wouldn't create a massive current in exposed power lines. I asked him how exactly he thinks a power plants functions, and I think he sort of figured out in a vague sense that a moving EM field applied to a conductor creates current.
Then he said it was just all fear-mongering from the MIC. I pointed out to him the fact that it's the MIC who squashed all the efforts to harden our infrastructure because they have nothing to gain by it, and it could lead money away from their contracts. He said MIC would just try to get all the "hardening" contracts. I then pointed out that "hardening" mainly entails replacing lines with better shielded cables and burying them, which would be done in short order by all the utility subcontractors (i.e. a lot of rednecks), and he just doubled down on the MIC conspiracy theory.
Major flame out.

There was no electromagnetism debate, that was all in StA's head, arguing against figments of his imagination. His reading comprehension is really bad and he delusionally thinks he won that thread. The MIC is not against EMP hardening, they stand to make a profit off it.
