The southern US is getting smited real hard this hurricane season, two major hurricanes that made landfall, after a drought of 12 years without one, and two particularly nasty major hurricanes at that. Al Gore did not predict a 12 year major hurricane drought. But 2017 isn't that far of from what he thought the average hurricane season would be at this point in time, but it's still a little on the weak end of that.
