Then you want a diesel. After an EMP attack there won't be any electricity for the pumps, and gasoline doesn't last long (a year or so with some StaBil or equivalent), whereas diesel will, and you'll be able to suck it from home heating tanks, etc, as well as potentially make your own biodiesel.Speaker to Animals wrote: ↑Tue Aug 14, 2018 1:11 pmI want to drive one of those restored older model Ford trucks. That way when the North Korean dictator saves us all with an EMP attack, I can drive around just fine while your little cylon vehicles are bricked.

I’ve always assumed that an emp would melt all of the spark plug wires and such. You’d have to rewire a carPh64 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 14, 2018 2:33 pmThen you want a diesel. Pfft. Uninformed unscientific nonsense. An EMP won't melt your wires or spark plugs, that's nonsense.SuburbanFarmer wrote: ↑Tue Aug 14, 2018 2:46 pmI’ve always assumed that an emp would melt all of the spark plug wires and such. It might fry computerized stuff, rendering your car useless with newer vehicles, but an old plugs/points vehicle would be just fine - might stall out when the EMP hits, but give it a minute and you could start it right back up.
Plus even modern car electronics are fairly well shielded/protected, a car is a pretty noisy environment for electronics. ( http://www.empcommission.org/docs/A2473 ... on-7MB.pdf )
Home electronics is a different story, the extremely long wires of the power grid are going to make a great big antenna to send some nasty shit into homes that'll get by most power protection. Even the best quality power-strips typically aren't designed to handle what a nuclear EMP could do. Of course that's a "could", not "will" - what it could do depends on the type of device, distance, etc.

If you want to limit yourself to the most dangerous routes imaginable, sure, drive around the apocalypse in a car.

If he’d had Trunp stfu about migrants and tariffs, and mention Glass-Steagall, I’d be a fucking trumpian right now.
Show me some bank breakups, and I’m on the bus.

You mean if you ever looked at anything other than CNN and zerohedge you'd have seen what everyone else saw.SuburbanFarmer wrote: ↑Tue Aug 14, 2018 7:56 pmWtf I love Bannon now.The Conservative wrote: ↑Tue Aug 14, 2018 4:40 pmLike him or hate him. Bannon made points.

No, I just didn't hear anything about his stance on banksters. I knew he used to work for Goldman, and he had some Fox Newsy website, that's about it.Okeefenokee wrote: ↑Tue Aug 14, 2018 8:10 pmYou mean if you ever looked at anything other than CNN and zerohedge you'd have seen what everyone else saw.SuburbanFarmer wrote: ↑Tue Aug 14, 2018 7:56 pmWtf I love Bannon now.The Conservative wrote: ↑Tue Aug 14, 2018 4:40 pmLike him or hate him. Don't get too excited, I still haven't seen anything remotely resembling what he proposed.

If Dan hadn't shuttered the forum I could show you where we went over it during the election.
