Re: Fake News
Lol @ the idea that success= intelligence. Suck enough dicks and a whore can earn lots money and if she spends some of that on a good accountant, she might get set up for life.

Re: Fake News
They don't get to have it both ways. The options they present to us are
A. He's a tyrant in league with Putin, but he's fooled the full weight of the US intelligence and judicial system and we just don't have the proof.
B. He's a bumbling idiot.
I just want to know how they've come to the conclusions of Genius Tyrant or baffoon. Because both can't be true. Unless you pick B, and the highly educated and qualified experts in the CIA, DOJ and FBI are just dummer.
In which case, you probably still want Trump as POTUS.

...meaning she had the intelligence to hire a good accountant and actually save some of that money instead of putting it up her nose or whatever other vice she could blow it on.
I met an early-30s former "escort" who used the money (she escorted in her early 20s) to buy a condo, which at that point she owned outright and was renting out while living with her mom (in another state) to help out because of (mom's) medical issues, while working on a degree in nursing/PT. The only downside to her past was that if men (she liked) found out they either avoided her or treated her like she was still escorting. Smart girl though, didn't take shit from anyone.

Re: Fake News
Low bar. Do you really consider all the millionaire Hollywood celebrities and musicians intelligent? All the Democratic party politicians intelligent because they were succesful?
It takes some amount of intelligence to tie your own shoelace, but I would not use the description "intelligent" about someone based simply on that, either.

There's different kinds of intelligence. My dad is a PhD in physics, but can have some views I certainly don't agree with at times. I certainly wouldn't see him as a good "people person/manager/CEO" type.BjornP wrote: ↑Sat Sep 14, 2019 12:30 amLow bar. I mean, ask yourself, is Mike Tyson "intelligent"? He was obviously successful at his chosen "career".
Al Sharpton is "successful", but obviously a grifter IMHO. One can argue though that takes a certain amount of intelligence about manipulating human emotional response though.
Some people would argue that a guy who was a carpenter his whole life, raised two kids, and retired well off enough him and his wife could live comfortably (but not excessively, no yearly foreign vacations to the Riviera, etc) weren't "successful" by their metrics of success, some might say they were successful. Depends on your personal POV I'd think.
Whether you think a politician is "intelligent" or not, same thing... Is Trump a genius or idiot savant? Obama? Either Clinton? I'd bet I could tell your politics by asking enough questions like that, and if that's true then you have to question whether it's about "iq intelligence" or simply personal bias.

Name one good thing that Trump has done since being in office.

Re: Fake News
That’s a fair point, the different intelligences part. I think what I'd consider a lack of intelligence might in certain people's cases, really be a poor application of one's intelligence. My favourite example being an intelligent person like Steve Jobs who nevertheless resorted to quack medicine to heal himself. A case of unknown unknowns brought on by confidence in the field where you are an expert.Ph64 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 14, 2019 1:02 amThere's different kinds of intelligence. Still, with Trump specifically, the man talks like a simpleton. It's hard not to objectively lump him in with some of those screaming black, female hip hop stars who apparantly think screaming and making wild gestures make whatever they're saying sound more sensible. Occam's razor says he's just simple or maybe senile.. but you're right that he may simply be more intelligent in some other way than the intelligences I think matter more than... whatever his is.

He tried to limit illegal immigration and he tried to deescalate with NK and the Taliban.
How is that relevant?
