Conservative values of free speech, freedom of assembly, and all that other Constitutional stuff the left abhors, led to everything from Civil Rights marches to KKK marches. It is the double-edged sword of freedom, with all glory and warts included. The ultimate manifestation of live and let live.

The left hates that kind of freedom. They can't abide any Klan rallies, and if they have to kill the same freedoms that allowed Civil Rights marches to occur to stop them, then so be it. If they have to kill the electoral college to stop another Trump, so be it. If they have to destroy our national borders to ensure enough ignorant peasants are available to secure them electoral victories, so be it. If they have to shut down speech platforms from social media, to universities, to pushing "hate speech" laws to ensure their message prevails, so be it.

There's nothing live-and-let-live about the left. Study Mao to Stalin to Pol Pot to Che Gueverra. The left isn't about freedom, it's about authoritarians enforcing the correct ideology on the masses. Even a cursory glance at 20th century history would teach you as much.

In the strategy of opening up “rights” against an oppressive majority, you need to keep finding smaller and smaller groups to champion while conversely, the scope of the rights continues to expand. This is where that process has brought us.

This was 2003 for Lawrence v Texas and 2011 for DADT.

How many of you believe that gay people should be allowed to serve openly?
How many of you believe that gay people should be allowed to marry?
How many of you believe that sodomy should be illegal?
How many of you believe that gay couples should be allowed to adopt?

This is 2019. 2003 and 2011 are both in the past. Why bring it up now?

If 90% of us answered yes to all of those, what then? What is your point in continuously asking what I'm betting are "gotcha" questions of some kind, although I'm not sure what the gotcha is.

Personally, I don't care if gay couples adopt. The original parents didn't want to care for them. If there is someone who will, then that's a good things, as long as the vetting process prevents the child from going to an unsafe home. Being a gay couple doesn't make them unsafe. Same with gay marriage. Heteros have no high ground on marriage seeing as how the divorce rate was at 50% not long ago.
