Having a bit of a conundrum about where to keep my weapon stowed. It’s currently cable-locked in the attic and the kids don’t know about it.
But at some point I’ll need to have it more at hand. Still working this one out.
Hmm. This is a good question because you aren't safely trained to teach your kids how to operate firearms I'm assuming and I don't know the age range. If they are young just keep the magazine loaded but the chamber empty, always empty, in a case with a small padlock up by the door in a closet if it's not too far from the kitchen. Otherwise maybe best in a safe in the bedroom. You can use a tool gang box from home Depot.

That's where I would keep the long guns. I would sleep with a hand gun and keep it locked in the day in a case or safe. Or preferably on you 24/7

What kind of weapon is it ?
9mm Canik pistol. Never loaded, never fired, but I have a friend that’s going to take me shooting whenever it stops raining.

Age range is 2-12.
I guess I could use the cable lock to secure the case itself, so it’s quicker to get to. Tricky stuff, for sure.
