If the US would not have any stake in this, your logic would be correct.

But hell, it's goddam having troops fighting there, has been bombing there too. So yeah, the US is "a bit" involved here.

Hence your argument isn't at all valid. It's really a big middle finger waived by all other participants in the face of uncle Sam, if you don't get it.

It should be time for the US to act as a leader, because I bet it doesn't want Russia to take the leadership role in the Middle East.

I bet that if you poll the American people, I bet they wouldn't mind.

In the 1850's, Russia went full out religious war on the Ottoman Empire. America shrugged. France and England still suffered from 1812 inspired Russophobia--they still suffer from it now--and fought a costly, meaningless war about it. America shrugged. We had a presidential candidate who never heard of Aleppo (which wouldn't be so bad, if it weren't in the news so much at the time) and the potheads voted for him anyway--they never heard of it either. WE DON'T CARE! But ISIS is bad--they've gotta go--or at least not be fucking imported!

The Russian Orthodox church is not overwhelmed by this feminized horse shit, though.

"Russia has been attacked [by terrorists] many times," says Chaplain. "This is not a religious war, not a Christian-Muslim conflict, but for us, the struggle against terrorism definitely has a spiritual dimension."
About 70 percent of Russians identify themselves as Orthodox Christians. The remainder come from one of the constitutionally-defined "founding" religions of Russia: Islam, Judaism, or Buddhism.
Yeah.... If only the West was as tough against Islam as a country that allows sharia law, has a leader that considers Islam closer to the Orthodox faith than Catholicism, where Islam is giving a place of respect in the constitution and where even its clerics point out that while they're off to holy war, it is definitely not a holy war against Islam.

Even Sweden's not that nice about Islam.

But as for the story itself, a shame if the Russian Orthodox Church starts to care more about political power than the spiritual wellbeing of its congregations, but from an individualistic perspective, I like it. Spiritual support, especially as vocally positive as that, can only help boost morale for the Russians fighting in Syria.
Fame is not flattery. Respect is not agreement.

Remember this?
Michele Bachmann is keeping an eye on the Soviet Union... 20 years after it dissolved

Michele Bachmann has said that the U.S. still needs to keep an eye on the Soviet Union - even though the country hasn't existed for nearly 20 years.

The Soviet Union dissolved in December of 1991 and the U.S. has normalised relations with many of the countries that came from the break-up. The White House has reset its relationship with Russia.

I'm all for this investigation of US politicians activities with Russia, frankly any foreign nation. But if we are going to do this, let's really do it.
Let's scoop up all the contact by US politicians. Let's find out what McCain does with them, McConnell, Clinton, Biden, all of them.

Heads up Russia-phobiacs Noam Chomsky says your off your rockers.
“So far, no single piece of evidence has been made public proving that the Trump campaign joined with Russia to steal the US presidency – nothing….Stop to let that thought reverberate for a moment.”
The far left Counter Punch website added: “The whole case against Trump is based on a pile of unverified BS from some ex-MI-6 flunkey trying to make a killing off sexed up rumors of imaginary collusion.”
