Re: Lost Arguments Never Lost
Nordic countries especially Sweden had more socialistic forms of government while also using the economic system of regulated capitalism. They are also democratic so technically they are like the NSDP minus the Nationalism, so one step away from Fascism according to some people. Fascism doesn't require a dictatorship either but it does require a single ruling party. I would argue it needs a charismatic leader to get off the ground but then the party could run things indefinitely like the Juche party in North Korea.

Popularization of the term may have come into vogue in recent times, no doubt. But what it describes, you can find in Rousseu's concept of "the social contract". The first known use of the word, according to Merriam-Webster is 1857, btw:

Yes, Nazis are Fascists. And the word "Socialism" may always have been associated in your community and surroundings with Fascism , just like SJW college kids associate white skin with racism, Fascism, and black skin with the poor, widdle, oppressed masses. The Soviets used to make associations between Fascism and Capitalism all the time. Your political opponents could destroy you and any campaigns you may continue to do in the future by associating you, your views, your clothes, your hair, your hat, your mannerisms, with some bullshit that isn't true about you. Guilt by association's fallacy comes from people who are really bad at making associations, or they're dishonest in making them.Guy, Nazis are Fascists. Of course, the word "Socialism" has always been associated with Fascists. (Until now.)
p.s. "Collectivism" has only recently come into vogue - maybe last decade. A much better descriptive word for what most people call socialism but it wasn't used much when I was a kid.

When you look at the Nazi 25 point plan (demands) it's pretty damn Socialist.
Tied up with a bunch of racial stuff too.
Tied up with a bunch of racial stuff too.
- We demand that the state be charged first with providing the opportunity for a livelihood and way of life for the citizens.
- In consideration of the monstrous sacrifice in property and blood that each war demands of the people, personal enrichment through a war must be designated as a crime against the people. Therefore, we demand the total confiscation of all war profits.
- We demand the nationalisation of all (previous) associated industries
- We demand a division of profits of all heavy industries.
- We demand an expansion on a large scale of old age welfare.
- We demand the creation of a healthy middle class and its conservation, immediate communalization of the great warehouses
- We demand a land reform suitable to our needs, provision of a law for the free expropriation of land for the purposes of public utility, abolition of taxes on land and prevention of all speculation in land.
- The state is to care for the elevating national health by protecting the mother and child, by outlawing child-labor, by the encouragement of physical fitness, by means of the legal establishment of a gymnastic and sport obligation, by the utmost support of all organizations concerned with the physical instruction of the young.

The NSDP was a socialist platform. Corporatist as well. Theoretically technocratic. And Nationalist. Oh and economically Keynesian. Also, fascist.

Of course fascist and socialist states controlled / regulated / monitored industries of all types. Mussolini had government officials siting in on board meetings for god sake.
