He could've just asked; "did you pay for that?", without pulling the gun and the results would be better. The cop made a situation that looked like petty theft worse, by making it look like armed robbery, since he was in plainclothes.

Imagine a second off duty cop with the same attitudes towards pulling his gun and jumping to conclusions walked in and saw one man pointing a gun in the direction of the customer and the clerk.
Eventually, a situation will arise with dozens of cops pointing guns at each other, and the rest of us screaming "SHOOT"

That was a completely inappropriate and dangerous response by the cop.

Jeez, I should have made this a poll!! "Is the cop a roided up dumbass?" I'm glad to see a lot of you aren't knee jerk "anybody with a gun is OK by me". IMO this cop has such poor judgement he shouldn't be on the job. Once a gun is out all sorts of bad things can happen for no good reason. Don't cops have to file a report if they draw their guns? If not, why not?

I just don't see how this video is much help on the greater problem.

If folks aren't swayed by the dude kiled on the ground in the hallway or the kid killed playing in the park... this one will do nothing.

As you rub your hands together waiting for the repeal of the 2nd amendment. Yeah real concerned you are.

I am sure your solution is that citizens should have to lose their right to self defense because the people you want to have a monopoly on weapons are dumbasses.

Framing this as having anything at all to do with the 2nd is ridiculous. This is about a poorly trained LEO. Full stop. When there's 300 million guns out there, and that not going to change, cops need to know when to draw and when not to. Every time their gun comes out is a potential innocent civilian death because shit happens. If that cop was so poorly trained, what if a couple of teenagers had happened to burst noisily into the store as kids do? Dead kids just another police "oopsie"?

Well I am glad you say that now but all those "what ifs" have nanny state bullshit lurking around the corner. "what if a couple of teenagers had happened to burst noisily into the store as kids do? " That's why people under the age of 18 or better yet 21 shouldn't be allowed in a convenience store without an adult. We have seen this movie before.

If we can't get anywhere with the kid shot in the park or the guy shot on the floor in a hallway...

Then this is wasted outrage.

Spends outrage capital with no hope of return on investment.

Move on, and wait for a better opportunity.
