My point is you’re an uninformed complainer using bad analogies to propel your emotionally driven views.

The proof is this thread.

Eisenhower wasn’t mewling about past generations owing him for eating his lunch and leaving the check. Of course, that’s why you have to selectively edit my post to make it infer a point that was not being made. No different than jedi having to create strawmen positions for me because he lacks any actual knowledge to form a real argument.

Why ... it’s almost like without ignorance and dishonesty you guys have nothing to say at all.

No, Eisenhower was acknowledging that he, and his contemporaries, were currently eating the lunch, and that they ought to consider paying the check for future generations. Which is what jedi is arguing, but from the position of the future generation, not the belunched.

Or, was it just the snarky attitude that we wouldn't hear from the Greatest Generation?

I don't think anyone here would argue that passing debt to your children is a "good thing". The OPs point was about making sacrifices for future generations. So who is calling for scaling back or ending entitlements and welfare ? Or is the point, other people should make sacrifices for the children?

It’s looking at the world through the victim lens. How victimized have you been by our national debt?
Share your personal victim story here, so other grown men might commiserate over the unfairness of it all.

I think the OP was saying that building something lasting for future generations shouldn't really be viewed as a sacrifice at all.

Personally though, I just want DB to keep paying his property taxes to keep my bennies flowing.

It's nice when people actually read what I write, which you don't.

From earlier in the thread:
There is a point to be made about waiting til the baby boomers die off before we can do anything about it, but once they die off, it's our problem. It's not fair to leave it to the next generation after us.

And it's not "your" government. It's "our" government.
What do we do so that the next generation doesn't have to deal with this? No more kicking the can down the road.
Thy praise or dispraise is to me alike:
One doth not stroke me, nor the other strike.

That would be Medicaid.

What we’re really talking about, ultimately, is the price tag of a compassionate society.

Skipping out on paying the bill is what you're leaving us. Hell man, it'd be good enough if it were just "hey, we didn't leave you with anything, you have to figure it out yourself." Sure, then it's whatever, we'll make it work, but you're leaving us the check after you ate the meal.

Thanks.
That’s what you wrote, whiner.
Once again, ignorance and dishonesty. Watchwords of a couple of users here, no doubt.
