LOL. My wife sold our privacy for an insurance discount. When she told me of Metromile's deal of basing insurance on miles driven, I assumed there was some mileage reporting mechanism, not that they install a GPS tracker in your car!!! Holy monetizing "Big Data" Batman! I'm expecting texts asking me why I haven't yet filled the left front tire to factory specified pressure.nmoore63 wrote:I think there is eventually going to be a huge grey market for old cars. We are only accustomed to dealing with like twenty online personas at a time so when we only have about ten people some people have to be strawmanned in order to advance our same relative go nowhere nonsense positions. -TheReal_ND

This absolutely cannot happen in the United States. And I don't mean that it can't happen, I mean that it absolutely must not ever happen, but it will, by Ford it will

Having been through the family court process where a woman can make all sorts of baseless allegations, and if you can't prove you are innocent then you get locked in a cage, I can tell you there is somewhat of a bright side to these sorts of things. It's not all bad to be able to prove where you have been.

Until you get the implant it only proves where your car or phone has been...Speaker to Animals wrote: It's not all bad to be able to prove where you have been.

It's enough. And you can usually correlate that with surveillance footage if they want to go criminal with the allegations.
Bitch will still walk out of the courtroom like nothing happened when you proved she lied, though.
For the purposes of family court squabbles, the man's phone and car data are two pieces of evidence more than the bullshit the woman pulled out of her ass. The shame of it is that I saw men proving their innocence all the time, and the women walked without so much as a scolding.
Any man with a contentious woman in his past is well-served by this kind of technology.

Until the Federal government outlaws them out of existence by simply saying they cannot be on the roads. The State is an all encompassing power mechanism that crushes anyone unconventional. The best I believe anyone can do that genuinely wants to live in a relatively "safe" country like the U.S. and wants personal freedom with minimal government interference is living off the grid so to speak out in the rural areas, preferably in a mountainous region. They could ban once it’s all autonomous and have the other cars automatically rat out the non autonomous cars.GloryofGreece wrote:Until the Federal government outlaws them out of existence by simply saying they cannot be on the roads. But They won’t outlaw.
Too hard. Not path of least resistance.
They will ban them from the freeway though for purposes of autonomous safety, but I doubt ban completely. Autonomous only roads will certainly be here in 20 years.
